I have been a big fan of Scooby Doo ever since I was like 6 years old. I adore the original series and The Scooby Doo show but the rest of the incarnations have been hit(Mystery Incorporated, The New Scooby Doo Movies and contrary to what I've seen and heard about it The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo was much better than I remembered) and miss(Shaggy and Scooby Doo:Get a Clue and the episodes of The Scooby and Scrapy Doo Show that had half the gang missing).
I have also enjoyed most of the movies(I think my least favourite, Monster of Mexico, was even then was just mediocre), my favourites overall are Witch's Ghost, Goblin King and Zombie Island, but for me this and Abracadabra Doo were two of the better recent entries. If I had any complaints, it was that I would've loved it to have been longer and also I wasn't always crazy on the animation of Fred.
Other than that, the animation was vibrant and colourful with some very nice touches of atmospheric darkness to it too. I also loved the style, it has some of the What's New Scooby Doo style(which I personally don't mind) while also having a little of the classic style of the original series. The music was great too, the song choices were well written and not pointless at all and the incidental music was haunting while never obtrusive.
I was also very impressed with the writing, there is enough of the quirky humour to captivate while also having room for some thrills and scares. Scooby Doo! Camp Scare also has a very entertaining story with the camp setting bringing back some nostalgia, it is well-paced while not dragging too much in the middle and stays true to the stories of the series incarnations before it. The final solution is thrilling and very unexpected.
The characters appeal too. Shaggy and Scooby still make me smile, while the Woodsman is a scary and memorable villain especially with the appearance. The voice acting is solid from all involved, Frank Welker still shows he has plenty of versatility while Matthew Lillard goofy and likable Shaggy also manages to be the biggest surprise.
All in all, love Scooby Doo and I enjoyed Scooby Doo! Camp Scare. 8/10 Bethany Cox

I've always loved Scooby-doo & the gang & like most grew up watching it from little & some of the best Scooby-doo movies ever are the Classic's "Zombie Island" & "The Witches Ghost" from the 90's but there's been plenty of good one's but those two are proper Classic's of the Scooby-doo franchise & now definitely "Camp Scare" is one of the "New" best Scooby-doo films out there!!!
What i loved about "Camp Scare" is the beautiful animation & the Awesome 1980's Camp Site Slasher vibe & atmosphere it has, felt like "Friday the 13th" & "The Burning" in it's look & feel & that is just so Awesome to take that fun Slasher tone & put our Mystery gang right in the middle of it.
The Camp site & Cabin setting with the forests all around & the big beautiful lake is all done beautifully & looks amazing, stunning animation & the film is simply alot of summertime fun.
Fred Jones brings the gang to his old Camp site where he was a Camp Councillor for kids who go to summer camp but it's very run down now & time hasn't been good to the place & since Fred's fun days there's been a scary woodsman type of monster tormenting the land & carries a big axe!!! This is a menacing creature that has become a Mythical figure of the place & the source of many Camp fire spooky tales but who is he? & is he really real? & why does he stalk to area? Plenty of questions in this fun little Horror Mystery.
There's other characters that come into it including a bunch of misfit kids who have been dropped off for summer camp & who Fred & the gang are looking after & some fun voice work from the legendary MARK HAMILL!!!! This is definitely one of the best of the latest Scooby-doo films, it has such a fun summertime mood & plays out like a watered-down 80's Slasher flick for kids & i loved it for that.
Great fun & stunning animation.

I recently rewatched this film with my younger brother for the first time since I was a little kid. If you've ever seen Scooby-Doo before you know what I mean when I say there's a nostalgia overdrive along with a lot of fun when you watch this film, but I'm not sure it would be possible to watch without the nostalgia the way it was when I was a little kid. The plot revolves on Scooby and the gang becoming counselors at a summer camp, and (as the stereotype goes) all good summer camps have good campfire stories. The scarier the better. But when all the monsters from the stories come to life, they must find out if they are real monsters or if there is someone behind them, and if there is someone behind them, then who is it? It is well animated, though I can't imagine that would hold up on the big screen, as this was a direct-to-video film. The story doesn't have much depth, but follows the classic children's mystery-horror formula, but this movie follows that formula in an excellent and entertaining way. At the end of the day, not a bad movie to watch the week before camp.

Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare (2010)
*** (out of 4)
Fred takes the gang back to his childhood camp where they're going to be councilors for the summer. However, once they arrive they learn that a ghost and a lake monster are stalking the place so they must try and learn what's really going on. SCOOBY-DOO! CAMP SCARE works on many levels but the highlight is without question the darker elements, which make it a throwback to the original series. You can tell that the writers were trying to return the series back to its origins and for the most part they did a very good job. This is especially true in regards to the villains, both of whom are just like you'd expect to see in the first few seasons of the series. The ghost, a tall ghoul that carries an axe, is perfectly brought to life and is quite memorable with the way he stalks the woods. The lake monster, an obvious homage to the Gil Man from CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, is also fun and especially during the scene where the gang are out on boats and come under attack. The animation is also extremely good with some wonderful details. Some of my favorite moments happen when the characters are gathered around a beautiful camp fire that lights up the woods around them. The main characters are all in fine form with the vocal actors doing a very good job with their roles. Then there's the added humor that's brought into the film. Usually some of the later day features had too much comedy but that's not the case here as it pretty much stays in the background but whenever it's brought to the front it's usually very funny. There's also some rather fun moments dealing with Velma being the one getting hit on and not Daphne. Speaking of Daphne, I couldn't help but notice that they really tried to "sexy" her up with the tight short shorts and bikini shots. Apparently one of the animators had a major crush on her.

Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare (2010) is a movie I recently watched with my daughter on HBOMAX. The storyline for this picture follows our favorite mystery solvers as they head back to Fred's old stomping grounds at a camp he grew up attending and he is now a camp counselor at. As Fred and the gang try and revitalize the camp and give the camp attendees a great time a couple legendary spirits seems to have arisen threatening to end camp early. The gang will have to get to the bottom of things if they hope to save the camp and camp attendee's summer. This movie is directed by Ethan Spaulding (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge) and contains the voices of Matthew Lillard (Scream), Grey Griffin (Transformers), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Tara Strong (Batman: Killing Joke) and Mindy Cohn (A Nice Girl Like You. The backstories of the ghosts are entertaining and well delivered and I really enjoyed the animation. They also did a good job of displaying how nostalgia can impact your perspectives. 😂 The stories and depiction of the rival camp were funny too. The settings were fun and the dialogue was hilarious as always. Overall this is a fun movie for Scooby-Doo fans with the regular humor and hijinks. I recommend giving this a shot and would score it a 6.5-7/10.

After rewatching it again tonight, Camp Scare reminded me why it's my favorite animated Scooby-Doo of all time and one of my all time favorite movies, period. The mystery is legitimately complex and realistic, and the chase scenes and bad guys are actually thrilling. It is funny, and the characters are far better developed than in the older movies. One of my favorite parts is the animation - the various camp visuals were gorgeous, and I love the animations of the characters. The twist is a truly excellent one, and it is just such an excellent movie that modernizes and perfectly executes all the things that make the movies and shows so enjoyable.

While this 2010 animated Scooby-Doo movie does follow the very same blueprint that every other Scooby-Doo movie is made by, then it turns out that "Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare" is actually enjoyable.
I suppose it is the atmosphere to the storyline that worked out so well. At least it made it more unique and interesting for me.
The art style is classic Scooby-Doo, so you know what you are getting. Smooth animations and a very likeable drawing style. So thumbs up for that particular familiarity.
Well, essentially you know exactly what you are getting every time you sit down to watch a Scooby-Doo animated movie. But hey, isn't that part of that special Scooby-Doo charm?
What is also great about these animated Scooby-Doo features is the returning voice actors, with the likes of Frank Welker, Mindy Cohn, Matthew Lillard and Grey Griffin, And as a special treat, then "Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare" also has Mark Hamill on the cast list.

Throughout my experience in cinema, I have never had the pleasure of viewing a motion picture nor an animation of this caliber. I have spent years looking for the best film, and I must tell you that I have never experienced 77 minutes as good as these, possibly even in my life. The developing of the both and the character makes this the one of if not the best films you will ever have the opportunity of viewing. The plot was beautifully written by an amazing director, the shocking twist to reveal the villain. The beautiful animation of this film is not to be overlooked either, the smooth transitions very much surprised me. Overall this is the best film I have ever seen, and above all I beg you to watch this. Scooby Doo: Camp Scare consists of 77 minutes of pure perfection.

Is there a story? Who cares! The story is inconsistent - not when it comes to jiggle physics -, but the jokes land a moderate amount, thus it is sufferable.
PS: anyone complaining Velma being considered an "ugly one" please remind yourself that Daphne can not catch a boyfriend even if her life depends on it, so duh, what's the difference between the two? Both gets jiggle physics, so stop comlaining!

Freddy returns to his childhood summer camp, Camp Little Moose, and brings along the gang. He's excited to be the new camp counsellor but finds the camp vandalized and terrorized to shut down. Despite that, a few kids do arrive and Freddy intends to be the best camp counsellor ever.
This is a fun Scooby-Doo mystery adventure. It has all the elements. Freddy is good being a try-hard. It's not being anything different. It is simply good.

Camp Little Moose is in big trouble! Not only are they inferior to their competition, Camp Big Moose, but Camp Little Moose is being haunted by The Woodsman! But there is also "The Fishman" and "The Banshee of The Black Canyon" Thankfully, the camp is in good hands with the ambitious, Mystery INC. This one was fairly decent. It started off well enough, but runs out of steam around the 40-45 minute mark! There just isn't enough material. They throw in everything but the kitchen sink, to pad the running time, but 70 minutes is just too long for this sort of thing. I will admit the villains were very cool! especially "The Banshee of The Black Canyon" There is also some great action. Shaggy and Scooby's heroic bridge scene is really impressive! Speaking of Shaggy and Scooby, they stole the show as usual. Check out their hot pepper & hot chili gags! The side characters aren't too bad. We get a Mini-Fred! I thought that was pretty cute. I also liked the looks of both the camps! They did a good job. The ending is lame, throwing in an unsurprising twist and a very disappointing conclusion. Other than that, I had an OK time with this. I did enjoy myself to a certain extent, it's just not one of the best

This is some old school Scooby Doo with some darker scares.
Fred's old summer camp is the destination for Scooby Doo and the gang as camp counsellors.
However Camp Little Moose is empty. An old legend called the Woodsman has scared the kids away.
Ranger Knudsen wants the camp closed but Fred wants to investigate further.
The longer length has a bit more story and this one dials down the silliness.
Apart from the Woodsman, the gang are terrorised by the Spectre and the Fishman.
Somewhere along the line there is some lost treasure.
Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare is bit more frightening for kids, a tad more scarier and also more fun.

A great love letter to Friday the 13th by including a lot of the slasher into this Scooby-Doo animation film. If you're a horror fan or a Friday the 13th fan then I highly recommend checking this out.
I am a die-hard fan of Scooby Doo, having grown up with the original, so I have been hesitant to watch any of the new stuff, but....after having seen Camp Scare bc of my kids, I have to say that I loved it! They maintained the flavor of the original, with the music, the humor, and the characters. It's just an updated version. The story was great too. Writing done well, tight plot, suspenseful.
As for the swimsuits on Daphne and Velma, I have to say that i thought they were tasteful. Since we hardly ever saw the gang in clothing other than what they always wore, it was refreshing to see them in something different. And I loved that they gave Velma some curves. I always hated that they drew her as so stocky and shapeless. Im guessing that they wanted us to focus on her brains, and to draw a character more true to life, which is fine, but I always felt like she kinda got shortchanged.
I did kinda take issue with making Daphne somewhat of an airhead: squealing with delight that someone liked Velma while totally missing the insult that the ranger gave her. Also, putting her in Daisy Dukes was a bit much: regular shorts would have been fine, and that's just because we had already seen some skin when she wore the bikini. Really? Was it necessary to see more? Other than that, i thought she was a kick- ass chick: she sacrificed her scuba tank to get rid of the Fishman while risking drowning and she was a lot smarter than in older series.
I got a kick out of finding out that Mark Hamill did the voices of Deacon, Babyface Boretti, and the old storekeeper. Cracked me up! I had no idea he was that talented in voiceovers.
I recommend this for Scooby fans all over. The true spirit of Scooby Doo is maintained, and you will enjoy it a lot!!

There is an appeal to Fred's love for his camp in this, one that we all can relate to, and one that is pretty amusing to watch in other people. We all have that beloved childhood place that we refuse to see in the eyes of reality, but rather choose to ONLY view through the lens of memory. Idealized memory.
The Camp that Fred takes the gang to is like that. Everyone else can see it's gone to seed but to Fred it's Shambala. And the humor really sticks the landing best when the camp is juxtaposed between Fred's eyes and everyone else's.
The appeal is great and the laughs are plentiful. The parody of, well, of camp rivalry movies from the '80s is almost too much for even your most stony faced friends.
The only problem is that yet again, it comes to a "meh" conclusion. Like sooooo many others with only a few rare exceptions, the ending just doesn't match the build-up.
The pay off is the yet again the journey and unfortunately not the destination.

Finally! I have been waiting for an amazing Scooby movie and I got it! This movie was terrific, not perfect, but was fun. The plot of the movie is interesting when the camp's stories start coming to life to scare the gang and campers away. The characters fit well with the story and a lot of the scenes made me laugh. There were actual higher stakes in this one that made me excited for what would happen next. It was surprisingly a pretty intense movie. I loved how the bad guy shocked me. I did not see it coming. The only thing I disliked was how they tried to sexualize the women. It was very strange for a Scooby movie. Overall, I loved it and highly recommend it. It's definitely worth your time.

Love the Woodsman, very cool. Nice evil laugh. Burt was kind of annoying but other than him no one got on my nerves. Good summer camp movie! Fred has some smoke issues but ain't that the truth? Every time you get near a fire the smoke comes after you. Smoke follows beauty. Deacon uses his inhaler wrong. You're supposed to inhale & hold it. The scooter ride thru the woods is cool! Love it. Town is under the lake like Tappan lake around here. It would be cool to go see it. Like Velma says, i agree you do not see it coming who the villain is. Loved the surprise. Scooby & Shaggy get their licks in on several good dishes esp his 5 alarm chili. Loved it! Great movie. One of the best.
