    Clever and scary

This is a film for genre fans with a sense of humor about grisly violence. If that's you, get ready for a new take on a suspense/horror/chase/buddy film that's also a road movie. It's genre-twisting and fresh.

It's a psychological study of men in the woods. Really tough characters vs the more average man type.

The setting is the boreal forest of Russia in winter. So there is the additional theme of man against nature.

It's funny and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's entertaining enough for popcorn, but you need a strong stomach.

There is enough gore to make it too intense for sensitive people. You've been warned.

    I rather enjoyed it

So it was 1am and I'm looking around for movies to watch that would go with the semi-drunken state I am as I'm sipping on my 3rd or 4th scotch.

Up comes "Whiteout". I check out the trailer for 30 secs and decides, why not.

Watching the movie I was actually rather impressed - the acting is not bad at all and the plot does make sense. I had no problem with the cinematography either.

The first 10-15 mins of the movie did feel kinda rushed and I wasn't exactly sure why these people were in the situation they were in - but, hey, I went along for the ride and liked it much more than a lot of recent big budget Hollywood movies.

Don't let the low rating deter you - give it 20 mins and you might also find that you like it.

Not what I thought and I was really surprised

On the surface I thought this was going to be an action movie just by the title but by the end I found myself surprised by how many different feelings I had. I really felt like I went on a journey along with the characters of this film. I found moments of genuine laughter, fear, and shock and some awesome action and excitement. I really enjoyed the second act and the relationships between each character as they developed. There was a lot of heart within this movie which I wasn't expecting. Would for sure watch again because I feel like there are moments that could imply deeper meanings, and other possible things missed on first glance. Really neat indie film and I hope to see more. Would for sure recommend if thrillers and action films are your thing !!

    Whte Out worth a watch

I must admit that I am more a fan of Directors David Lynch ,Cronenberg ,M Night Shyamalan and Stanley Kubrick than main stream Holywood productions. Film noire and black comedies are more to my taste that Marvel regurgitations.

I found Walking supply or now White out ,refreshing to watch. As a small budget production the storyline, acting ,cinematography and general vibe of the movie provided me, and the rest of the audience with a well spent evening. The movie had great dialogue ,quirky humour and the required amount of ultra violence.

Mr Barnes and Co have done themselves proud and I wait in anticipation for their next venture.

    A surprising fun ride

Survivalist movies are not my normal jam, but I happened upon Whiteout and was pleasantly surprised.

A brutal study of how far people will go when pushed to their limits.

For a relatively low budget indie, this movie punches way above its weight class with more action and nail-biting tension than I was expecting!

If you liked The Grey or The Edge or The Revenant, you will likely enjoy this ride as well.

The characters few like real multidimensional people each reacting to and handling the situation in their own way.

If you're looking for a brutal character study of the human psyche with some unexpected twists, Whiteout is worth the watch!
