Plenty of imagination, but no real budget

THE VIOLENCE ACTION is an example of the kind of film that ensues when your budget doesn't match your imagination. It's yet another story of a group of assassins who find themselves facing their greatest peril, yet the whole thing is so plotless, so silly, so made-up-as-they-go-along that it becomes difficult to watch. As the title would suggest, it does have a wealth of action sequences and killing throughout, but there's too much emphasis on silly editing and wirework for my liking; put it this way, they're not going for realism here. It's passable, just about, but it fails to enthrall, and the rest is just amateurish.

It's Not Baby Assassins But Still Fun

The Violence Action is not Baby Assassins but still fun. The film's title, perhaps, does not translate well. Not sure what it means. The film, like the former one, which was one of the best of 2022, is a Japanese martial arts action film about a young female assassin. The plot is more complicated than that, and involves multi layers of betrayal in the Yakuza. It is a crazy thrill ride of silliness, violence, action, and martial arts. The characters are all larger than life with many comic book like qualities. The cinematography and direction are fast moving and fun. There is underlying heart throughout. The fight choreography is too quirky, fast, and unrealistic for my taste, but there are some good ones. All in all it was a fun time and worth watching.

    Good Action Movie

This movie has everything you look in an action movie I must say. It has funny parts, intense parts, goofy parts you name it. The female lead comes of as a legit badass. The movie is also one you cannot take seriously cause of the fight scenes but i am sure it was done to make it not be too serious and to make a person want to to sit and watch it to the is gore to an extent but not all that and it doesn't have nudity or even kiss scenes. It is all action. I must say everyone played their part but the cleaner is indestructible. I should hire him cause he can get the job done. Well all in all great.

Manga Brutality done light and cheerful.

I love manga. And when it's put onto screen well I am a very happy man.

This has it all; over the top characters (dad....), ridiculous storyline, dramatic dialogue, quality MC, but above all some delightfully choreographed violence.

While not essential for enjoying the violence it is worth following the faiirly complex story. You do get occasional updates which helps you keep up. Ultimately I like knowing who is killing who and why in some fully expected ways, some more gruesomely fulfilling.

The acting is pretty good overall, a couple of villains not quite up to it apart from that it ranged from competent to excellent and the main character pulls off teen assassin brilliantly. All the main roles are physical and the action scenes choreographed perfectly.

It is very manga. New storylines dropped in out of the blue and with an assumption of a fully integrated and known character. Madness being normal. Ultra violent teen assassins commonplace etc.

If you like properly watching a film it's definitely for you. Dense fast changing but consistent story and I don't know if I mentioned, but a lot of violence.

On a final note, a quote:

"Tell me. What is love to you?" "A cactus!" .

    . .

    "Boring, try again"

    Dad again.

    Enjoy.

call Gramps and tell him the 70s is back

In the 1970s "mix" films, films that could not decide if they were serious or satire, were very popular. (Check out for example the Matt Helm series with Dean Martin). This film, oddly, seems to retrieve that vibe, presenting the story of a high school girl who is also a professional killer in a style closer to anime or a comic strip, than to than real life. Even the action sequences are speeded up, constantly reminding the viewer that nothing on the screen is real. To be honest, that was a tough sell in the 70s, and an even tougher sell today. The only redeeming quality is Kanna Hashimoto, playing the lead, who thankfully has a natural sweetness that comes across. On the bright side, your six year old will find this film absolutely fascinating. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer."
