    Compassionate Cable TV Exploitation?

Certainly a strange series. Watched the Vampire and Werewolf episodes, since they're obviously connected even though they tried to make it subtle. Lots of people know about the vampire club scene in the 1990s in New York and elsewhere, so I guess these guys are remnants from that era. The focus on leadership and responsibility, especially with the young vampire boy and his friends, is endearing. The werewolf "princess" and the part at the sanctuary was also a highlight. The vampire ritual reminded me of the ones they'd do on old TLC or Discovery Channel documentaries. I'd love to know where these kids are now and hope that the families are all doing well.

    Fascinating

I have to admit I started watching this show purely to be entertained by people taking "Let's Pretend" too far. But once you get past the content of their beliefs, it looks like each person has built their identity around not just the beliefs but their group of like-minded individuals. And in a way these are like religions having beliefs, behaviors (or rituals) and a sense of belonging to a group. And while at first it seems like the tension in their lives comes primarily from having a parent who doesn't share their belief, later episodes revolve around the problems of leadership of such a group, ie, stepping down or starting one up. The therapists don't try to talk them out of their beliefs but help them find balance or accept adult responsibilities or make concrete steps to improve or stabilize their lives outside the group. It's fascinating in an anthropological way.

    interesting for open-minded ppl....

The series is.... ""interesting"" in its look into the lives of a few VERY unusual ppl.. especially a few from some marginalized subcultures that the media has gone above and beyond to make look as bad as they can... ((this is VICE, after all....))

i think the only ppl who could have anything bad to say are those who are ""unfulfilled"" in their own lives and cant see others happy without passing judgement.... what these folks do isn't hurting anybody, my wife and i learned a lot. T certainly isn't our cup of tea.. running around in the woods and all.... but anyone with eyes can see these individuals love their kids and families as much as any of us do.... maybe this show is meant to show that.... and hey... the wolf ladies were pretty hawt... (DONT TELL MY WIFE I SAID THAT hehe)

    Better than expected

A pretty odd show that still airs from time to time. The vampire episode stood out the most. The kids from New York seemed the most real. The other episodes feel like they're using actors. The way the vampire clan tries to forge their own path was really inspiring. To see young people of color motivated to create and support a community, especially after the George Floyd protests and COVID pandemic, is really something. The other episodes are pretty okay, too. Some of the other reviews are pretty nasty, but I think as long as these people are relatively grounded in reality and not hurting anyone, live and let live! 🇺🇸

This Should be called "Hold my beer" and "Call my therapist"

I gave it 1 because 0 is not an option. This show is little more than people with serious mental health issues, being exploited by people with greed issues. Can we not with this stupid exploitative bs. Jeez.
