This low-budget, apparently homegrown, amateurish production offers an incisive critique of what in recent decades has happened to art and artists, and their relation to the contemporary institutionalized art world. By focusing on an analogue to nonrepresentational, nonaesthetic visual art, but in the aural realm, by depicting a group of band members who insist upon making noise rather than music, the creators of this film express their unbridled disdain for visual artists with no talent who become rich and famous through sheer grift and con artistry. There are also a number of swipes at specific visual artists, such as Robert Rauschenberg, along with other ¨glaneurs¨ or makers of assemblages and collages.

This film is sure to be either misunderstood or hated by those caught up in the game, whether collectors, artists, agents, curators or museum goers. Or it would be if it were ever watched by them, about which I have my doubts. (I found it on Hoopla.)
