Showing video game music as the art it is

A really fun symphony showcasing so much of what video game soundtracks can be.

Gaming in Symphony really took my breath away and highlighted how beautiful the beauty of video game soundtracks can be. While the show itself is shown in a rather poor way, the orchestra is fantastic and preformed so well. Everything from old to new music is highlighted.

A symphony of video game scores.

What really didn't land with me is the production in terms of editing and the lights. The editing is done showing game sometimes, half screens, some musicians cut in half and such, and it doesn't look nice at all. It really is ugly editing, and it takes you out of the experience. There is also lights put here that talks to the gamer RGB in all of us, but to me, it's just cringe.

There are also some presentation issues, with the host Jacob Stegelmann not really feeling like he knows what to say half the time. Plus some scores go on a bit too long like the Assassin's Creed games and some danish game that are fun to have highlighted here, but feels a bit too much to get a danish angel on the symphony

But it's still a wonderful Symphony. Taking you back to old 8-bit games to modern masterpieces like Word of Warcraft, Uncharted, Grim Fandango and so much more! The orchestra is downright fantastic, really selling this wonderful concert. The genres also vary showcasing everything from old tech music, to rock, to classic scores, to jazz, so many genres are covered here, and the verity is amazing!

This is a concert I will return to, no doubt! It's wonderfully preformed! While the production isn't the best, it really doesn't matter when the music is right. While it can feel like I already forgot I watched it, it still held an impact on me that I won't soon forget.
