Originally intended to be a spin-off of Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001) centered around Cassie Steele's character Manny Santos. Creators eventually reworked the project in order to appeal to a broader audience.
At least five of the actors on The L.A. Complex (2012) have turned up on NBC's Blindspot (2015). Jonathan Patrick Moore (Connor), Joe Dinicol (Nick), Jewel Staite (Raquel), Ennis Esmer (Eddie), and Aaron Abrams (Ricky Lloyd).
