Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger is easily one of the best Super Sentai series and an outstanding anniversary season. I'm honestly seething that I ended up watching all of Power Rangers Megaforce as a kid instead of this masterpiece. The space pirate theme is such a fun concept, it feels like a combination of both One Piece and Star Wars in the best way possible. Each member of the crew is absolutely goated, especially Captain Marvelous and Gai who are definitely my personal favorites. The fight choreography is top-tier, as everyone's combat style perfectly reflects their personality and character traits, especially when they switch forms using the Ranger Keys, it's incredibly fun to watch how they incorporate different powers from previous Sentai teams, even getting some unique parings that provides plenty of Fanservice. It's impressive how many returning actors and cameos they managed to include, many fans both old and new will enjoy each and every callback and reference. The Zangyack are the Super Sentai equivalent of the empire from Star Wars, an alright cast of villains with some pretty cool designs, but the real standout is Basco, Marvelous's rival and the best villain throughout the series. Gokaiger also has a ton of great movies and crossover specials worth checking out, like Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle and Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Wars. Overall, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger is a grand, action-packed celebration of everything that makes Super Sentai special. If you're looking for a great place to start with the franchise, Gokaiger is the perfect introduction.
