Does Disney really need this Star Wars Meet and Greet?
Image
Andor is one of the best Star Wars shows ever, and it showcases how one big character is being wasted at Disney parks!

Star Wars fans are, to put it lightly, a divisive lot who can often be quite judgemental of the franchise. That’s only increased since Disney purchased it, with new fans coming on board, but as many older fans decry the state of the later movies and TV shows. That’s not counting the slams on Kathleen Kennedy’s leadership.

So it says a lot that almost all fans can agree Andor is the best thing Disney has done with Star Wars. The series begins five years before the events of Rogue One and focuses on how Andor (Diego Luna) rises up from outcast to Rebel spy.

The show is stunning in showcasing the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance which is an “alliance” in name only with scores of agendas abounding.

Cross Examination Of Matlock Season 1: Where Have We Seen These Lawyers Before?
Image
Very few shows can make a splash like Matlock, but a splash was definitely made. There’s at least one incredible new cast every year, and we were lucky enough that this one had the legendary Kathy Bates.

She’s not alone either, as industry vet and America’s favorite grandpa, Beau Bridges, is joining her. But what about the rest of the cast and characters?

We already know all we need about Kathy Bates and Beau Bridges. Now it’s time to figure out where some of these other familiar faces in Matlock are from.

(Sonja Flemming/CBS)

There will be no leading the witness here — just straight, hard facts.

What do you say we stop jury tampering and get right to some opening statements?

I’m also out of lawyer jargon, so let’s get to it.

'I'm a Working Actor': Richard Kind Explains Why He Rarely Ever Turns Down a Role
Image
Veteran actor Richard Kind has appeared in dozens of roles on the big and small screens in his career. Speaking about his body of work, Kind has shared how he's really not picky when it comes to which roles he'll accept, confirming he very rarely turns down a part.

In an interview with Vulture, Kind opened up on his "standard" for accepting roles at this point in his career. He shared how he just recently worked on a very low-budget indie film with just a small handful of crew members. While it was much smaller in scope compared to many of the productions he's been a part of previously, Kind took on that role in part because it just gave him a chance to act, something he loves to do. It only sweetened the deal for Kind that his involvement was able to greatly benefit the filmmaker, even if it...

And it’s only been two days and my only real evidence is the absence of our morning conversations.” He adds that the residents of his building mostly don’t acknowledge him but that, “Reggie sees me. He’s a good person.”

Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks in Magnum P.I. (2018)
Magnum P.I. Was Destined for Success on NBC, so Why Did the Network Fail the Show?
Jay Hernandez and Perdita Weeks in Magnum P.I. (2018)
When CBS canceled Magnum P.I. in 2022 after four seasons, it was one of the most shocking cancellations of a TV series. Ever.

With ratings across the board dipping more and more each year, Magnum P.I. Season 4 had remarkable resilience.

It was one of the network's most-watched shows and delivered solid viewership on the lesser-viewed Friday nights in the U.S.

Had Fire Country not been a part of the network's agenda for the 2022-23 season, there's a good chance Magnum P.I. would have remained on the network for another couple of seasons.

At the time of its cancellation, CBS had many shows on deck for the following season and didn't think moving Magnum P.I. to another night would benefit the show.

Thus, the network axed the successful series after four seasons, leaving the passionate fans who tuned into the show for years wondering what would become of their favorite show.

What Does "Stay Liquid" Mean In Swat?
Image
"Stay liquid" is a popular phrase in the action-crime television series Swat. The show follows Los Angeles Swat lieutenant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson (Shemar Moore), who leads a highly skilled special operations police unit. The action-packed series frequently takes inspiration from real-life events to fuel its adrenaline-pumping plots. Swat premiered on CBS in 2017 and is based on the original 1975 television show of the same name.

In a shocking move, Swat was recently canceled by CBS after six successful seasons. The Swat season 6 finale was then expected to serve as the show's series finale. And then in another abrupt shift, CBS reversed its cancelation and picked it up for a seventh season. As a result of the sudden changes at CBS, True Lies and East New York were both canceled, whereas Swat is slated to return. Ultimately, that means more high-stakes missions, car chases, and, of course, Hondo making constant use of the line,...

Should ‘East New York’ Be Saved Following That Season 1 Finale? (Poll)
Image
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the East New York Season 1 finale, “Ruskin Roulette.”] East New York came to an end at CBS on Sunday, May 14 after just one season. But will that be the end of the series altogether? Prior to its cancellation on May 9, the series’ creators shopped the show around in an attempt to save it. The attempts were unsuccessful, but co-creator and executive producer Mike Flynn wrote to fans on Instagram on May 9 that “our journey doesn’t have to end here,” indicating his commitment to getting the cop drama to a new network. The show built a large fan base in its freshman season, and in fact had higher viewership than other renewed CBS shows. Those fans have made their voices heard following its cancellation. “I love East New York! I’ve watched every episode, it is currently one of my favorite new shows, CBS please change your mind and pick it...

East New York Season 1 Episode 21 Review: Ruskin Roulette
Jimmy Smits, Richard Kind, Kevin Rankin, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and Amanda Warren in East New York (2022)
If East New York had to wrap things up, this was how to do it.

East New York Season 1 Episode 21, they ended the official police business a few minutes early so that it could end with the 7-4 celebrating being together and the work they each do to make a difference in their community.

It underscored how important this series was and how huge a hole it'll leave in our hearts.

Throughout the hour, I was scared that Donaldson might get his way now that the series was ending. Thankfully, East New York ended on a happier note than that!

But could that man have been any more of an asshole? He claimed that Reigna was a "divisive" figure, but the only one doing any dividing was him.

‘East New York’: How The Drama Ended After Just One Season On CBS
Image
Despite a sizable outcry from devoted fans, East New York ended its one-season run on CBS Sunday.

The Warner Bros. TV series from creators William Finkelstein and Mike Flynn wrapped with a sentimental gathering of its leads having one last drink together — Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood (the terrific Amanda Warren), Assistant Chief John Suarez (Jimmy Smits), Det. Crystal Morales (Elizabeth Rodriguez), Det. Tommy Killian (Kevin Rankin), Officer Brandy Quinlan (breakout Olivia Luccardi), Officer Marvin Sandeford (Ruben Santiago-Hudson), Officer Andre Bentley (Lavel Schley) and Capt. Stan Yenko (Richard Kind).

Yenko gave a toast to Haywood, who thanked her for bringing him back onto the force where he “came to love it all over again.” His words brought Haywood to tears.

The episode wrapped up a double homicide from the previous episode in Ruskin Gardens, where Quinlan had been living as part of Haywood’s unique initiative to have officers live in crime-ridden areas.

We hope you guys thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode 21, especially since it appears that it will definitely be the last new episode of East New York you will ever see for life! That's right, guys, we've just learned from recent reports that CBS has ,in fact, decided to cancel East New York. So, it won't be getting a new season 2 at least not at CBS. More on that later. According to the folks over at Deadline.com , CBS decided to cancel East New York back on May 8, 2023 due to some competition and business conflicts during the negotiations process. Apparently,CBS shows: S.W.A.T.and East New York were competing for the same time slot in CBS' upcoming 2023-2024 season. The Company You Keep Canceled at ABC After One Season
Image
It's going to be a one-season run for the ABC series The Company You Keep. Inspired by the South Korean series My Fellow Citizens!, the series was created by Julia Cohen with Milo Ventimiglia and Catherine Haena Kim leading the cast. The show premiered on ABC in February and wrapped up its 10-episode freshman season earlier this month. Following soft ratings that reached a series low with the season finale, it's now been reported that ABC has axed The Company You Keep after one season with no plans to develop season 2.

The news came amid multiple shows getting canceled over the past week. Along with The Company You Keep, ABC also axed Alaska Daily after one season along with Big Sky after a three-season run. CBS controversially canceled S.W.A.T. after five seasons, though they have since reversed that decision after an outcry from fans and star Shemar Moore. However, the...

‘So Help Me Todd’ Episode 21 Photos, Cast and Season Finale Plot
Image
Marcia Gay Harden as Margaret and Jeffrey Nordling as Gus Easton in ‘So Help Me Todd’ episode 21

Fortunately, So Help Me Todd received an early season two renewal, so episode 21 is just the season finale and not the end of the series. The network’s other new dramas – True Lies and East New York – said goodbye after just one season, but So Help Me Todd‘s impressive ratings earned it a spot on CBS’s 2023-2024 primetime lineup.

Episode 21, “Are You There Todd? It’s Me, Margaret,” was written by Scott Prendergast and directed by Nancy Hower. The season finale airs on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 9pm Et/Pt.

Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden stars as Margaret Wright, Skylar Astin plays Todd Wright, and Tristen J. Winger is Lyle. Madeline Wise plays Allison, Inga Schlingmann is Susan, and Rosa Arredondo stars as Francey.
