DCSHG fans will like this! TTG fans, maybe not so much

This DTV animated movie is a crossover between the TTG and DCSHG TV shows. The Legion of Doom - led by Lex Luthor - has trapped most of Earth's superheroes in the Phantom Zone. But Luthor forgot the spunkiest, perkiest heroes of all.... Yes, turning their backs on their school work, young Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Batgirl, Jessica Cruz, and Bumblebee set off to free the other heroes and save the world! Unfortunately, on their way to the Phantom Zone the girls take a wrong turn - and wind up in the universe of TTG...

I'm a fan of the Gen2 version of DCSHG, and I'm pleased they got a movie of their own. TTG fans, however, might feel shortchanged. Despite their first billing, the Titans only appear in four (I think) scenes, with a combined screentime roughly equal to one standard episode of TTG. Apparently, this was conceived as a DCSHG project; only later did TPTB at WB decide TTG should also appear (Jesus, that's a lot of initials). As a result the Titans don't really impact the plot at all (fine by me - but not really what the marketing led people to believe). The good news for all is that the original voice casts for both series are present and on form. There are a lot of laughs, as well as some quieter character moments. There's a TON of references to past DC shows and to DC lore in general. And there's touching closure for several story threads that have been running throughout the DCSHG show, leading to speculation that this might be the final DCSHG appearance (there are conflicting reports as to the show's current status). I hope it isn't, but if this IS the girls last hurrah it's a good one. 7.5/10.

Avoid if you came to see Teen Titans Go!

My daughter loves Teen Titans and has watched some episodes of DC Superhero Girls, but finds them boring, so you can imagine how much she hated a movie where Teen Titans got top billing but barely featured.

I asked her what she would give this out of 10 and she said ZERO but that wasn't an option.

If you want to watch for the titans DONT

This stupid movie only focused on the super girls and the titans barley had anything to do with this movie. If I could I would've gave this movie 0 stars .

    But...

The movie is a wild and messy crossover that combines DC Superhero Girls and Teen Titans Go! In a way that is full of snarky humor and playful moments. The story emphasizes themes like friendship, teamwork, and redemption, making it more than just a series of jokes. The setup promises big team-ups and epic battles, teasing fans with the idea of their favorite heroes coming together. However, in practice, the Teen Titans themselves don't always get much time in the spotlight. Instead, the focus shifts toward the DC Superhero Girls, who seem to carry most of the story and animation weight throughout the film.

Teen Titans Go! and DC Super Hero Girls

I have not seen that many episodes of DC Super Hero Girls, but I have seen a lot of Teen Titans Go! Episodes and when it comes to a crossover movie, I did not know what to think. Especially when Teen Titans Go! And DC Super Hero Girls have crossed over before in some episodes of the Teen Titans Go! Show.

What I find disappointing was that the Titans are barely in the movie. They are in the beginning, some of the middle, and in an ending scene that made me question why this a crossover movie in the first place was. The Multiverse element does not happen that much, the Super Hero Girls only go to 2 or 3 universes.

If you like the DC Super Hero Girls then you will like this movie, because they are in the whole movie with just occasional Teen Titans Go! Scenes. This felt more like a DC Super Hero Girls movie that should have been called DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse.

I did find some funny self-aware moments and I like when the Titans show up, they give 4th wall breaking scenes or connections to their show or their movies. The animation is good, and the same voice cast from the shows were still good.

I thought the movie was fine. Other than some story issues I can see people who like DC Super Hero Girls and/or Teen Titans Go! Liking this movie for what it is.

Batgirl: [reuniting with Wonder Woman] Lucky for you, we're all really familiar with screwing up.

Zatanna: Yeah, we can give you the "crash" course.

      [they then dog-pile on Diana]

Supergirl: [to Hippolyta] We'll take it from here, Paulie.

      [Hippolyta smiles and walks away]

Wonder Woman: Sisters. You are here. I-I thought you...

Zatanna: Broke up? We did, but Karen had a really inspiring speech. Ooh, do the speech thing again, Karen!

Bumblebee: It was more of an in-the-moment thing.

Supergirl: But we did watch your thumb apology.

Batgirl: And thanks to Jess' ring we got here a lot faster than your rowboat.

Green Lantern (Jessica): Now, come on! There's no more time for hugs. Well, maybe one more.

      [they all hug once more]

Green Lantern (Jessica): Alright. Diana, let's save the world.

Wonder Woman: You still trust me to lead you?

      Supergirl: More than ever, Dee.
