Edit
Released on April 26th, 2011 to capitalize on Fast Five (2011), which was released in the U.S. on April 29th, 2011.
During production, the Mazda RX-7 used as Rick Merchant's car was stolen. The RX-7 belonged to award-winning professional drifter Justin Pawlak. The vehicle was inside a 26 foot enclosed Aztex trailer, attached to Pawlak's Chevrolet 2500HD, altogether stolen in the middle of production. The stolen vehicles have not been seen since.
The van is clearly visible in all of the racing scenes. This is impossible as Micheal had a broken leg at the time and was not available to drive for the film.
Originally in the script there were three Asian characters, the cousins Phong, Lee and James. During the casting process, it was ultimately decided that the cousins be consolidated into one character, Phong, who was played by actor Zedrick Restauro. Much of the cousins' lines were given to the Phong character and a few to the Albert character, played by Jared Kahn.
Part of the movie was filmed in Donoughmore. Although, it is argued to be Derry Berrings.
