Jess Hong and Jovan Adepo in 3 Body Problem (2024)

Goofs

Wallfacer

3 Body Problem

Edit

Continuity

When Nora is lying on the street, her legs change position between shots although she clearly died immediately on impact. First, her right leg is pulled forward, then, from Saul's POV, her left leg is.

Factual errors

Auggie states that she has made a water filter with a pore size of 0.01 nm. A water molecule is roughly 0.27 nm in diameter, so the filter would not even let water pass through.
The tether snapping would not cause the probe's course to change in the manner shown. It might start a rotation that would prevent alignment with the next bomb however.
Da Shi says that the probe was "moving faster than any man-made object ever" but at 80km/s it would have been going less than half the speed of the Parker Solar Probe.
News reporter says cicadas have emerged two years in a row due to global warming. Cicadas have a life cycle of 1, 13, or 17 years, depending on brood and species. Their emergence has nothing to do with global warming.
At a terminal velocity of 80km/s the probe would not pass another star in 6000 years. At that time it would be just under 1.6 light years from earth. The closest star to ours is 4.37 light years away and he isn't likely to be pointing at that anyway. Similarly it will not leave the Milky Way in 5 million years. At that time it will be 1333 light years from earth but the edge of the Milky Way is over 900,000 light years from Earth.

Crew or equipment visible

The cars involved in the collisions at the beginning of the episode are said to be under autonomous control / self driving, however in a couple of camera angles, the drivers can be seen.

Plot holes

Character error

During the launch the SRBs are incorrectly referred to as "first stage boosters". The first stage is the single large RD-180 engine in the centre.
