Although the movie is supposed to take place in the late '70s, in two of the bar scenes "Say Goodnight to the World" by Dax Riggs, released in 2010, can be heard playing in the background.
It was written and directed by Shana Betz (aka Shana Sosin), and is based on her childhood in Fort Lauderdale.
Anna Paquin (Christina) and Brit Morgan (Rain) worked together on seasons 3 and 4 of HBO's True Blood.
