- Brooke Carver is a university psychology professor. She's conducting a study in which people go on a series of dates and have their physical reactions measured to determine whether they're in love. This new data-based attraction test has garnered a lot of attention for her university. While giving a lecture, Brooke speaks with a skeptical audience member named Ryan Bennett. He criticizes her for not taking the test herself. The university then suggests that Brooke take the test with Ryan in order to stave off the negative publicity. Even though neither of them is interested, they reluctantly agree to do it. Brooke has been hurt in past relationships and doesn't want to fall in love again, while Ryan is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend. However, as the two go on their dates, they find themselves having fun with each other. Brooke and Ryan still disagree on the validity of her study, but their chemistry is undeniable. The only question is whether they'll be able to admit their feelings before the attraction test ends.—Patrick Lin
