The exterminating company that the lead character works for is an actual pest control company in California. They use the company's real phone number as well.
The "Jogger", played as himself by legendary "B" producer Lloyd Kaufman (of Troma Films fame), was originally to be called "Handsome Jogger", but was renamed when Kaufman, who was visiting Los Angeles, agreed to a cameo in the film.
In the segment 'Sweet Tooth' from Tales of Halloween (2015) Greg Grunberg and Clare Kramer reprise their roles of Alex Mathis and Lt. K Brandt-Mathis, now a married couple with a son. Grunberg is also seen wearing the same exterminator coveralls he wore in 'Big Ass Spider!'
At 1:00:43 the banner scrolling at the bottom on the screen reads "If you seen the spider, call....". Grammar!
As one of many inside jokes, producers Shaked Berenson and Patrick Ewald doubled for lead actors Greg Grunberg and Lombardo Boyar. Three of these shots ended up in the final cut.
