"Been Better, actually." is the story of a woman in her late 30s, HER, who is struggling to find closure. The film is told in a non-linear form with snapshots of a couples' journey from the day they first met to the present day. We first find this couple, HIM and HER, laying on top of each other, after a few too many cocktails. The result of a long night spent together, after having not seen each other since their break-up- over a year ago. We follow the couple across moments in their shared story, revealing them at their best, their beginning, and their end.
