Paramount+ is an intriguing option at the lower end of the streaming price spectrum, but is it worth your time?
When considering a streaming service to round out one’s collection, Paramount+ comes into the discussion quite a bit. How useful is a Paramount+ subscription? I took advantage of the streamer’s free trial to help curious consumers answer those questions and more.

Isabel May is set to play the daughter of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott in “Scream 7,” Variety has confirmed.
May, known for her role as Elsa Dutton in the “Yellowstone” prequels “1883” and “1923,” will star opposite Campbell, who is returning to the horror franchise after sitting out the sixth installment due to a salary dispute. “Scream” creator and writer Kevin Williamson will direct “Scream 7,” while Guy Busick, who wrote the fifth and sixth “Scream” films, is penning the script.
“Scream 7” will finally hit theaters on Feb. 27, 2026, after facing multiple setbacks, including production delays, creative overhauls and cast shakeups. In 2023, Melissa Barrera, who starred in the previous two films, was fired from the sequel over comments she made on social media about the Israel-Hamas war. Jenna Ortega, who co-starred with Barrera, had to drop out of the seventh film due to her shooting schedule for Season 2 of Netflix’s “Wednesday.

Taylor Sheridan’s super successful “Yellowstone” has been compared to “Dallas,” the grandaddy of primetime soap operas, often enough. So why wouldn’t Sheridan take a stab at his own Texas-set, oil industry melodrama?
“Landman” is that. And what’s pleasantly surprising about this Permian Basin blend of big business brinkmanship, family conflict and horrific on-the-job accidents is that it’s so damn funny.
Most of the laughs are intentional, too. A rich deposit of them should be credited to star Billy Bob Thornton, who can deliver astute lessons in petrochemical economics one minute then tell a bartender “I quit drinkin’, I’ll stick with beer” the next. The “Goliath” and “Bad Santa” star maintains exasperation in his drawl throughout and doesn’t waste a second resetting tone from heartfelt to pissed off to sarcastic, reliably punctuating all of it with redolent cusswords.
Tommy Norris is a perfect conveyor belt...

This post contains spoilers for the "Yellowstone" season 5 part 2 premiere.
It finally happened. Nearly two years after "Yellowstone" season 5 initially premiered, the hit series has returned to Paramount Network to kick off its (supposedly) final run of episodes. The second half of the show's fifth season has had to contend with the loss of its main star, Kevin Costner, who had led the way as John Dutton since the beginning. No longer, though; as viewers are surely aware, the latest episode of "Yellowstone" killed off Costner's character pretty definitively. So, what does Costner think about that, exactly?
In a bit of serendipitous timing, Costner had an interview scheduled with SiriusXM's "The Michael Smerconish Program" the morning after the "Yellowstone" season 5 part 2 premiere. First and foremost, the legendary actor and director made it clear that he wasn't even aware the show had returned,...

Taylor Sheridan has become nothing short of a TV mogul — at least within the realm of his sprawling "Yellowstone" franchise. It's not just that the saga now comprises two spin-off series in the form of prequels "1883" and "1923," (all of which Sheridan writes himself), it's that the co-creator of the mothership show seems to have an all-encompassing hold on the universe he helped construct.
Not only does he own two ranches on which "Yellowstone" and its spin-offs have shot, but he also bought all the horses that are used on the show and taught the series' actors how to ride. Having grown up around ranching and having owned a 1,200 acre ranch prior to becoming the impresario of the ever-expanding "Yellowstone" empire, Sheridan was keen to inject his show and its spin-offs with some of his real-life cowboy experience.
As if that weren't enough, there's more to Sheridan's intimate involvement with his popular Western franchise.

Paramount Network viewers who haven’t gotten the chance to see the Yellowstone prequel 1923 yet will have the chance to do so this December. The network announced on Friday, November 8 that 1923 Season 1, which stars Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and more, will air in full starting in December and through January 2025. 1923 was renewed halfway through its first season on Paramount+ after premiering in December 2022. The period drama was one of the many series delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, and there have been few updates on the show’s production since the strikes ended. But the November 8 announcement confirms that 1923 is still filming its second season, which is said to be its last. Local news outlets reported that filming on 1923 Season 2 has begun in Texas as of mid-July. Here’s all the latest updates on Taylor Sheridan‘s third Dutton family drama series, including the Season 1 Paramount Network schedule.

“Yellowstone” continues to be one of the most popular shows on television, despite the fact that it’s been nearly two years since new episodes of the series aired on Paramount Network. The Western drama centering on the Dutton family and their Yellowstone ranch in Montana is about to return with the second half of its fifth season, but they won’t be available to stream right away, as it will be a few months before you can stream them on-demand on Peacock. A new survey from Parrot Analytics shows just how important the blockbuster show is to Peacock, and highlights where customers who sign up to the service to watch it are coming from.

The trailer for “Yellowstone” Season 5 Part 2 is finally here, almost two years after Part 1 wrapped up way back in January 2023.
The deeply American cowboy series returns on November 10. The beloved show became a popular sensation as the most-watched cable TV show for two summers in a row in 2018 and 2019. By 2023, when the first part of this season premiered on Paramount Network, 8.8 million people tuned in to view the show. Simulcasts across Country Music Television, TV Land, and Pop TV brought that number up to 10.5 million.
The drama stars Kevin Costner, who won a Golden Globe for his role but has since departed the series. Costner plays the big-time Montana rancher and patriarch of the Dutton family alongside Kelly Reilly, who plays his daughter and business partner; Wes Bentley, who embodies his not-so-trustworthy son Jamie; Luke Grimes, who personifies his complex cowboy son Kayce; and Cole Hauser as his right-hand man,...

In the current television landscape, "Yellowstone" is king. Above "House of the Dragon" and other big, flashier shows, it is Taylor Sheridan's Western series that stands as the most popular show on cable right now. Even so, all good things must come to an end. The second half of the show's fifth season is due to air later this year and it very well may be the show's swan song. That's largely because Kevin Costner, who has led the way as John Dutton since the beginning, has departed the show. How does the rest of the cast feel about that? Luke Grimes at least seems to be pretty even-tempered regarding Costner's exit.
In an interview earlier this year with The Hollywood Reporter, Grimes was asked about Costner's messy departure from "Yellowstone." Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton on the series,...

Taylor Sheridan’s hit show “Yellowstone” presents an interesting case in the streaming industry. Despite being a Paramount Network original, it’s available exclusively on Peacock in the U.S., while all other shows from the Taylor Sheridan universe, including “Yellowstone” prequels “1883” and “1923,” are on Paramount+.
This strategy — licensing one of its top shows to a competing streaming service — made sense when Paramount’s predecessors, CBS Corporation and Viacom, were less invested in their own streaming platform. However, years later, the decision seems less beneficial. More than six years and five seasons later, “Yellowstone” remains one of the most popular shows in the U.S., driving a significant share of viewers to Peacock.
Parrot Analytics’ Audience Journeys tool helps measure “Yellowstone’s” importance to Peacock by tracking cross-platform consumption affinity between titles. The data shows “Yellowstone” is a major driver of subscriber acquisition for Peacock, thanks to its...

Taylor Sheridan is not a conventional Hollywood powerhouse. The man essentially runs the entire "Yellowstone" empire himself. He writes most of the scripts without using a writers room and even owns the ranch where a lot of the filming takes place. He's also the main creative force behind the spin-offs and is not afraid to get down and dirty when need be, with whoever it needs to be. To that end, he literally got in a fist fight with one of the stars of his hit Western series the second time they met.
Cole Hauser plays Rip Wheeler on "Yellowstone" and, in the here and now, he and Sheridan are friends. That's not exactly how it started out though. In a 2022 interview with Men's Journal, Hauser explained that the second time he met Sheridan, they got into a tussle. Speaking further, the actor explained that he's been in lots of bar fights in his day,...

"Yellowstone" is one of the biggest shows of the past decade. Though it started out relatively small on Paramount Network, it grew to become the biggest series on cable television. Taylor Sheridan's tale of the Dutton family led by Kevin Costner has truly gripped American audiences, so much so that it's now a full-blown franchise with several spin-offs - and more on the way. Despite being a part of that ever-expanding franchise, however, legendary actor Sam Elliott isn't exactly a fan of "Yellowstone," and he's not afraid to say so.
The actor, known for his roles in films such as "Road House" and "A Star is Born," starred as cowboy Shea Brennan in "1883," the spin-off that helped launch Paramount+. Elliott was quite happy with that show, which takes place decades before the events of the flagship series. In various interviews though, Elliott has made it crystal clear what he thinks of "Yellowstone.

Welcome to the world of oil. Those are the ominous words that end the first trailer for “Landman,” Taylor Sheridan’s new drama series starring Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm and Demi Moore. The show will premiere its first two episodes on Paramount+ Nov. 17.
“The oil and gas industry makes $3 billion a day in pure profit. And it’s only getting bigger,” Thornton’s Tommy Norris says in the opening of the trailer. He then outlines that to make that money, you need to do two things: secure the land and manage the people.
“First part’s pretty simple. It’s the second part that can get you killed,” Tommy says.
After he drops that bomb, disaster strikes. Dynamic shots of men in suits boarding private planes and Tommy in his cowboy hat are replaced by a scene of workers on an oil rig. The trailer then cuts to blast as the sound drops out.

On June 20, 2018, Paramount Network aired the first episode of a neo-Western drama television series called Yellowstone – and a megahit franchise was born. Lately, news regarding the franchise has been focused on what’s coming further down the line. We’ve been hearing casting announcements about the spin-off series The Madison and 1923, and we’ve heard that the flagship show, which was said to be ending with “season 5, part 2,” might continue with a sixth season after all… but before we get there, we still need to see Yellowstone season 5, part 2, which has a premiere date of Sunday, November 10th at 8pm Et/Pt. With that date still a couple months away, a batch of first look images, and a very quick teaser (which still features A Lot of Kevin Costner) from the new episodes have arrived online. You can see the images at the bottom of this article.

Yellowstone may be wrapping up after five seasons, but the franchise still has a lot of life left in it.
Deadline reported Thursday that the sequel series, 2024, has a new name and lead star.
Initially, the series was set to be headlined by Matthew McConaughey.
However, the show’s lead has now been revealed as legendary actress Michelle Pfeiffer, signaling a significant shift in its creative direction.
The new name is Madison, and the plot is described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
Michelle is a huge draw for the forthcoming series, which will premiere in 2025 following the conclusion of Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2.
Who will join Michelle Pfeiffer on the Madison cast?
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO,...

When the end of Yellowstone was officially announced last year, Paramount Network had set the wheels in motion for two more spinoffs. There was the prequel series, to be set in 1944, and then the present-day continuation, set to take place after the events of Yellowstone, which had the working title 2024.
Now, that sequel series is very much beginning to take shape.
That series will be titled The Madison and will star Michelle Pfeiffer, and it will be the next series to rollout in the Yellowstone universe. The Oscar-nominated movie star will also executive produce the new series from franchise boss Taylor Sheridan.

Riding high on the coattails of Yellowstone’s runaway success, 1923’s chapter takes us on a journey back to the roots of the Dutton ranch. Here, we’re lassoed into a time when Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, embodying the formidable Cara and Jacob Dutton, breathed life into a bygone era. However, Mirren was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs when it came to riding horses before filming began.
