All of the All Blacks game and training footage you'll see in the film is exclusively shot for Cup of Dreams, bar two minutes of archival footage. I was able to go on the field and film the All Blacks play a Test Match against South Africa in Wellington, which is where most of the rugby footage originates from. I hoped to capture the game in a way we dont normally see, favouring the intense emotions and almost balletic movements of the players rather than the traditional wide-angle coverage we're accustomed to.

We have a great and very open relationship. I see Cup of Dreams as an historical document depicting a difficult past becoming a very connected present. I doubt I'll ever have to capture more challenging or personally revealing subject matter, but I hope that the unsentimental honesty of our story will prove inspiring and hopeful for others.
