Oriane Verpilleux, Justine's court clerk, is found dead in a hallway. Tancelin starts the investigation despite her refusal to accept the substitute of Grégory, commandant Ludovic Marty. Furthermore, Justine insists on initiating the investigation against all advices, particularly these from procureur Élodie Roulier. Investigations reveal that Oriane had made a mistake in one of the procedures that led to the release of Yves Bazin, a dangerous robber.

A bound and hooded man tries to escape from a burning house, without success. A young woman named Eve Gæssler tries to enter the house claiming that it is her home, where she lives with her brother Clément. Both are squatters belonging to the association "Tous avec toit" (Everyone with a roof), chaired by the controversial figure of the politician Paul Robin, in the middle of the electoral campaign.

A violent environmental activist group broke into a chemical factory, causing the death of the guard. The police investigation succeeds in finding the main suspect, who is none other than Adélaïde Munoz, an undercover policewoman and close friend of Vanessa. She agrees to let her go until the end of her mission, which is to stop a terrorist attack, and then to proceed with the detention of the murderer. But Adélaïde may have switched sides.
