    Boring

Disappointed I went in with decent expectations - the title sounded interesting, and I thought maybe this would be a decent horror-thriller with a fresh storyline. But within the first 20 minutes, I could already feel that something was off. The film just drags. It tries to build suspense, but instead of feeling tense or intrigued, I felt bored and disconnected.

. There's no real depth in the story, and everything feels too surface-level. The so-called mystery or horror elements are predictable, and if you've seen even a couple of decent thrillers, you'll guess most of the plot twists before they even happen. It's not that every film needs to shock the audience, but at least keep us engaged - this one failed at that.

Scenes feel stretched unnecessarily, dialogues are dull, and there's a lot of "build-up" that leads nowhere. It feels like the movie keeps promising that something big or scary is about to happen - but that moment never truly arrives. It just keeps dragging you through the mud.

I didn't feel emotionally connected to any of them. Nikita Roy's character could've been so much more powerful and layered, but she's written so flatly that even her struggles don't evoke empathy. I kept waiting for her character to grow, or at least show some spark - but it never happens. The side characters feel like they were added just to fill space.

Which I was hoping would at least make up for the weak story, is average at best. The lighting, angles, and visuals lack creativity, and the "darkness" element in the title hardly translates into anything visually gripping. The **background music** too was underwhelming. In horror or thriller films, music plays such a huge role in setting the mood - but here, it didn't really enhance any scene. In fact, it made some scenes feel even flatter.

By the time the film reached its climax, I was just hoping it would end soon. And when it did, it didn't leave me with anything to remember - no moment that stuck with me, no performance that stood out, nothing. It's one of those films where you walk out of the theatre (or finish it online) and forget it within an hour.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but as a viewer, you expect at least some return on your time and attention. This film honestly felt like a missed opportunity. There was a good concept somewhere underneath, but it got buried under poor execution, bad pacing, and weak writing.

Watch it only if you have absolutely nothing else to do...

    Mind-blowing movie

Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the human psyche, exploring themes of faith, fear, and spiritual manipulation. Director Kussh Sinha makes a stellar debut, crafting a deeply emotional and suspenseful narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

Sonakshi Sinha delivers a commanding and brilliant performance as Nikita, a rationalist who confronts unexplainable forces head-on. Her portrayal is deeply human, making her character's journey all the more relatable and engaging. She is looking so versatile in whole film and totally nailed it. The supporting cast, including Paresh Rawal and Suhail Nayyar, add depth and complexity to the story.

The film's cinematography is stunning, using silence and shadows to create a sense of dread that permeates throughout. The gloomy house setting becomes a character in its own right, enhancing the eerie atmosphere. The narrative is well-paced, with unexpected twists and turns that keep viewers guessing until the very end.

While some may find the film's themes and plot familiar, Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness offers a fresh perspective on the dangers of blind faith and the importance of questioning the unknown. Overall, it's a thought-provoking and thrilling ride that's sure to leave audiences spellbound . Personality I loved it.

    Triller - must watch movie

Brilliant movie. Triller and twists omg.

Sonakshi, arjun, parwash and all actors did amazing job.

Direction was superb and story is well written.

    Cinametograpy was good.

    Story flows with movie.

    Superb.

    I can watch again too.

I have low expectations but it just passed way to high my expectations.

The way it holds crime, triller, action, horror and twists uff, be ready for time and again twists which hook you on the seat from first to last.

I didn't feel bored from very start to last.

    Beyond my expectations.

    Must watch .

    Highly recommend.

If you are movie lover, most go.

    Didn't expect last twist.

Could have been much much better

Don't go with the 10-star reviews.

Either they are paid, or they don't know anything about movies.

Nikita Roy had a good concept. Acting was good too from all the lead except a few over-acted scenes from Sonakshi.

Somewhere it all boiled down to the direction. Abrupt scene endings. No character development. The horror was just superfluous. That killed the movie. They could have focussed so much on the cult, but all the spotlight was on Sonakshi, considering the director is her brother. She did act well but in a movie like these, there is so much to play with. It could have developed it into much more as it had all the elements of horror and thriller. But it fails.
