According to Paoli Dam, she is the first actress to be shown full nude and to have an oral sex scene in a mainstream Indian film. She said she agreed to do it because she was convinced that scene was required to take the story forward. But she said it was a difficult scene to film because nobody from Tollywood or Bollywood had ever done something like it so she had no reference point. She didn't know how to prepare for the scene. So she discussed it with the director and watched several sex scenes from American and British films.
Paoli dum didn't even know after signing the contract for the movie that she had to go nude in it. But keeping her words she did go nude.
In several film festivals including TIFF, the graphic sex scene was completely omitted. Hence, the film ran for 87 minutes in some releases.
The producers wanted a simulated sex scene, but as neither Bollywood or Tollywood had any experience of showing intimate scenes (outside of musical purposes), the director took the leap and decided to go with unsimulated sex.
The second time Anubrata Basu performed an unsimulated sex with a mainstream actress in a Tollywood film. The first was in Gandu (2010), where he had real sex with actress Rii on-set.
