Gillian Anderson, Douglas Booth, and Vanessa Kirby in Great Expectations (2011)

Trivia

Great Expectations

Edit
Harry Lloyd (Herbert Pocket) is the great-great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, on whose 1861 novel this production is based.
Over 80 tonnes of dirt, weeds and creepers were used to transform Holdenby House in Northamptonshire into Miss Havisham's decaying manor Satis House.
The show makers tried out various concepts for the title sequence: the rooms of Miss Havisham's house being overcome by webs, and Miss Havisham's white wedding dress turning black.

However, the crew eventually settled on the butterfly's growth and decay, finding it most fitting for the story (the butterfly collection in the first episode representing captured beauty and its potential for destruction and revenge).
First time Vanessa Kirby worked with Gillian Anderson, before National Theatre Live: A Streetcar Named Desire (2014). In Streetcar, her character was named Stella, almost the same name as Estella.
Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon/J. Pumblechook) and Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen/Herbert Pocket) appeared in this miniseries and the first season of Game of Thrones (2011) in the same year.
