The production crew used the fake title of 'Basic Math' as the film's working title because it was hard to secure filming locations for a project called 'Sex Tape.'
This is the first time that Cameron Diaz has officially performed nude scenes in 22 years after She's No Angel: Cameron Diaz (1992).
Some of the script's more sexually explicit and raunchy scenes had to be toned down during film production as Cameron Diaz was feeling too self-conscious to fully go through with them. She previously had a no-nudity clause in her contract and only lifted it for this film as an exception, having previously worked with the director Jake Kasdan on Bad Teacher (2011).
