A native of these places, Moscow operative Andrey Korablev returns to a small seaside town. The news of the sudden death of his grandfather, an old fisherman and the only close relative, makes him return. He is remembered here: he once served in the local Ministry of Internal Affairs, and he has many acquaintances on both sides of the law. Communicating with them, Andrey understands: the death of his grandfather was not accidental.

Which of the ill-wishers wants to get Andrey out of the way? He is accused of a murder he did not commit, and only many years of experience in law enforcement helps to avoid false accusations. The case of the death of his grandfather haunts Korablev, he raises the archives and finds new inconsistencies.

Korablev helps Inna, and as a result, Berezhnoy's boss admits that he stole money from her. But Tarba lies about his motive. Another murder was committed - in the same place where Andrey's grandfather died. This makes Korablev even more convinced of his guesses about the death of a relative.

The murder of Larisa was taken over by a man nicknamed "33 misfortunes", but Korablev immediately understood: the man was trying to blame someone else. Andrey offers the head of the criminal investigation department to use him as a bait, and he agrees.
