A faux 70's Drive-In Nothing Happens Kind Of Movie!

I am a sucker for Drive In / Grindhouse movies. 99.9% of them suck for one reason or another. The usual culprits are: 1:Awful Acting 2:Bad Directing 3: Slow Pacing 4:Terrible Camera-work 5:Movie Does Not Live Up to Promises of Poster 6:Total Ineptitude on Everyone's Part. Matthew Enstrom is also the director of "Chaos in Outer Space", a failed but interesting comedy, which I enjoyed ( to use the term loosely) at a film festival years ago. So then I happen onto "Tomatoman" which covers all the bases.I have seen worse movies but this one has a place in my heart for being the most mind numbingly dull. Similar to Bill Rebane's "Invasion From Inner Earth" in that nothing much really happens during the whole film. This film would fit right in as a third movie at a 1970's Drive-In horror triple feature. By that point, who was really watching, just us few masochists who thrive on such painful entertainment. Director Enstrom uses the same core of non-actors in all of his movies which actually sort of adds to the crude drive-in effect of this film. Let's hope Mr. Enstrom follows in Mr. Rebane's footsteps and drops a few more of these misbegotten turds. I will be keeping an eye out for sure.

Caught Me in the Right Frame of Mind

Watched this low budget little beauty and couple of nights ago. Tries for the 70's grindhouse style and almost succeeds. Is it bad? Of course it is. What else would you expect going into it? Very few grindhouse were technically good movies. So sit back and let the badness sweep you away. It's only one lost hour that you'll never forget no matter how hard you try.

Tomato Man caught in on the right night. If i were in the wrong state of mind I would have probably tossed this in the " never to be watched again" pile. As it is, I will most likely revisit this a few more times. Not to mention foisting Tomato Man on a few unsuspecting friends. That, my friends, is one of the joys of being a "bad movie connoisseur". Is 9 a little high for this type on film? I can only say that I really enjoyed it.The acting was atrociously funny and/or annoying. The camera work was okay (and that's being generous). The terrible music actually fit the mood of the film. Matthew Enstrom, evidently the mastermind behind Tomato Man, has directed a couple other films that I will check out if I can locate copies.Hopefully this isn't the last we hear from him.

    Terrible movie

    The rating is overrated!

It wont even worth 8.6 !

It should be 3.0, it just a low budget garbage underground film! It just another terrible and disgusting film that filmmakers made for entertainment!
