Just finished watching this film. I went in despite the bad reviews I read and I'm so glad that I watched this beautifully curated story.
' To accept and be happy with what you actually are, rather than worrying and comparing yourself to others' is all that it wants to say. Some films are to be watched with all your heart and an open mind. Today, we are working mindlessly to present an image of ourselves in front of this world. But in the end, all that's going to remain is the truth. So why not accept it?
The message that they are giving us is so much more important than the minor flaws in the screenplay. I absolutely loved it with all its small imperfections. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

The story of a couple having issues after the bride gets epilepsy attack on her wedding day. Since the groom is various of his social status he distances away from her. When he is on the verge of losing his job as a teacher he plans an educational trip to the countries at the center of world war 2. How they both bond with each other and resolve their differences is the crux of the movie.
The movie has feel good factor and is clean, however not sure why there was a need to link it to world war 2 which did not make sense.
How they develop a bond during tour of europe is the crux of the movie.
The songs are ok.
Janhvi is excellent as Nisha and brings lot of sincereity and innocence to her role and is the heart of the movie.
Varun is ok.
They are well supported by Manoj and Anjuman.

Sameer lodaya.
The movie is one of the best combination of content ever found in Hindi movies
Nitesh once again came back with a unique concept with excellent direction after chhichhore here he offers you all the elements of a movie in nice crafted Combination..the movie has classic humour ,high emotions ,soft love story ,top notch performances, good songs and a great lesson on world war 2 with deep morals..some scenes were very touchy and gave goosebumps..the pace of the movie is slow which should be a matter to raise rest it is outstanding
The character of Varun which started as a fake guy with wrong attitudes and how he changes gradually till the end is played by him with all varieties of expression in a brilliant way.. janvis character from the start was very tender hearted with soft looks was marvellously played by her
The movie is meant to watch with all family members of all ages where everyone will get their share of entertainment by all means
The makers have perfectly targeted the ott audience which is classy and not masses but still a good addition to Bollywood dictionary.

When we think about Bollywood romance, flashes of classic SRK movies with vivid visuals and over-the-top caricatures immediately spring to our minds. However, the stylisation and the overall approach have evolved drastically and gradually moulded into a more relevant shape keeping our modern-day lifestyle and civilisation in mind. Albeit, the gist has remained identical. And thus, making every other romantic feature somewhat alike to some extent.
"Bawaal" attempts to break out of that norm!
While it uses some well-established tropes & cliches to lay the foundation of the lead couple, the kind of parallels it draws afterwards to build that relationship further is quite unmatched. Tracing way back to the horrific events of the Second World War, the story puts lots of effort to symbolise the difficulties and dilemmas of our minds to that of a time of absolute horror when all participating nations of the War and their innocent people went through inconceivable hardship and misfortune.
They endured Pain which is beyond comprehension.
Now such comparisons may come across as naive & pretentious to some people, and that is completely understandable cause it looks like Nitesh Tiwari (the director) wanted to tone down the actual severity of the circumstances so that his work could be widely accessible, thus resulting in a byproduct that lacks mandated sincerity and fervour.
Nevertheless, the tender chemistry between Varun and Janhvi made my two hours worthwhile. And I like that they both were committed to their roles and played their respective parts with utmost honesty and conviction and thereby making it one of the most interesting pieces of work coming from Bollywood.

Everything about this movie is good (above average). The director is great, the lead male actor has done justice to his role (he is tailor made for this type of character actually, no surprise he will do excellent job).
Story is not typical, although the ways the story beings is too much unrealistic. After that it has followed a very good route - it has some ideas to share with you and audience should really be able to relate to the storylines.
The reason I gave 6 instead of 7 or 8, is the heroine. As the female character is also having significant role in this movie, it would be wiser to choose someone who can actually do some acting.
