With the fall television season kicking into high gear, several returning favorites have undergone noteworthy changes.

Whether it’s major casting shuffles on Once Upon a Time and Grey's Anatomy or unexpected departures on Hawaii Five-0 and Chicago P.D., there’s never a dull moment when it comes to keeping track of the upcoming 2017-18 season.

Et highlights seven returning TV shows that will have a different look and feel this fall.

Chicago P.D. lost a big member of their department when Sophia Bush abruptly left the show in May. The show hinted at Bush's departure in the season four cliffhanger finale, when her character, Erin Lindsay, considered taking a job with the FBI in New York -- but the NBC cop drama looked internally for her replacement. Revolution alum Tracy Spiridakos made her Chicago P.D. debut at the end of season four, when her character, a robbery...

“Chicago P.D.” star Sophia Bush is set to leave the NBC show after four seasons, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap. Bush played Detective Erin Lindsay, an intelligence officer who had personal connections with other members of the squad. Sergeant Henry “Hank” Voight (Jason Beghe) — the head of the unit — took her under his wing and she was in a relationship with Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer). A possible exit was hinted at in the Season 4 finale, as Lindsay had recently come under fire for the way she treated a convicted pedophile (by sticking her gun.

Gregory Maguire had no idea what he was unleashing when he wrote Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West in 1995. Since then, a tremendous amount of energy has been spent on revisiting the antagonists from fairy tales to modern fiction in an effort to explain their motivations. Quite often, the opponent is more interesting than the protagonist so there’s an appetite to understanding what made them “evil”.

Another trend has been taking the classic fairy tales and first making them into palatable Disney animated fare followed by live-action adaptations and stage editions. By combining the above, we arrive this year with Maleficent. Perhaps the single most arresting visual in the Disney rogues gallery, this cunning sorcerer has given generations nightmares since the cartoon version arrived in 1959.

As we look in the rearview mirror of the summer blockbusters, September heralds the start of the fall movie season. Filled with Hollywood heavyweights and A-listers, here’s our Big list of the most anticipated movies coming to cinemas this autumn and during the holidays.

It wasn’t exactly easy for genre television in 2005. Well, it’s really never been easy for genre television ever in the history of television, but in 2005, a deluge of genre shows premiered and almost all of them had fallen prey to the swift axe of the television gods by the next year. Start by thinking about television now. It’s a fruitful time for horror and science fiction and fantasy. There are a multitude of genre shows, running the gamut from The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, to True Blood and The Vampire Diaries. They’re all massive hits.

Now, think of all of the shows that premiered around that time in 2005. There was Surface, and that was cancelled after ten episodes by NBC. Invasion, a well-regarded show written by Shaun Cassidy (who created one of my favorite shows, American Gothic) and that was cancelled...

Now that it is just barely summer, it’s time for the networks to try their best to get you excited for fall television. ABC wants you to get excited for their schedule, and their new shows, and I’ve got some previews for you, as well as some initial thoughts.

I have to tell you, ABC is looking more and more strange as time goes on, and the overall efforts of the network really have to make you wonder. While there are some hints of interesting shows, and one or two that might turn into worthwhile vehicles, in the Eddie and the Cruisers world of television, ABC is Joe Pantoliano, clutching his tapes, and furiously blathering about the lunacy of not giving the idiotic public what they want, especially since they keep demanding it.

Scandal will air an hour earlier on Thursdays, while Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will move to 9 on Tuesdays, according to ABC’s new fall schedule released today.

With upfront presentations just around the corner, ABC has bolstered its Marvel announcements – of new show Marvel’s Agent Carter and a season renewal for Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. – by detailing the rest of its line-up decisions.

Castle will get a seventh season, Modern Family and The Middle get a sixth, while Once Upon A Time, Revenge and Scandal get a fourth. Resurrection and The Goldbergs join Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. in getting a second season, and giant network icon Grey’s Anatomy lands its eleventh season.

In new commissions, five dramas and two comedies have been announced. Heading up the dramatic category are:

After remaining quiet all spring, ABC monopolized the attentions of the nation's TV critics on Thursday (May 8) with an evening full of big announcements.  You can read about seven of the network's renewals here, as ABC extended its relationship with "Scandal," "Grey's Anatomy," "Modern Family" and more. Fortunately, despite all of these renewals, ABC still has a number of bubble shows waiting for news on Friday, which means more content. ABC announced this week that it would be adding nine new shows to their line-up, including Felicity Huffman’s return to television and another Marvel spinoff.

Marvel’s Agent Carter is a spinoff of Captain America: The First Avenger and will star Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. The show will pick up in 1946, after the Captain’s death in the first Captain America film, and Agent Carter returns home to a sexist military and life as a double agent. After her dealings with Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger, Agent Carter works as a spy for the Ssr (Strategic Scientific Reserve) for Mr. Stark, aka Iron Man’s father. Whether...

ABC has begun its run-up to next week’s upfront presentations by giving the greenlight to a seventh season of Castle, a fourth season to Once Upon a Time and an 11th year to Grey’s Anatomy. Scandal will be back, as will Modern Family and The Middle.

It also gave a fourth year to Revenge and a second year to Resurrection. The Goldbergs earned a second season, too. Somebody dodged a bullet, eh?

It's rare when a film adaptation lives up the book it was based on so with that in mind I have compiled a list of 40 books that have been adapted for the big screen that we can expect to see in theaters this year. This includes two books from Gillian Flynn, young adult adaptations of work by Veronica Roth, Suzanne Collins and James Dashner, a short story from Dennis Lehane, a Nick Hornby adaptation, and an adaptation written by Nick Hornby, a new John le Carre adaptation and a prequel to the stories written by Tom Clancy as well as a couple comics and graphic novel adaptations from the likes of Frank Miller and Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Alexander O. Smith. I've added everything I could think of and while I'm sure I missed a few, please forgive me and hopefully you'll find something that appeals to your taste on the list.

Ever since Southland was canceled, I’ve had a police drama-sized hole in my heart, which is why I was excited to give Chicago P.D. a chance. But instead, Chicago P.D. reminded me of another cop show I’d previewed several months ago — Low Winter Sun.

For me, Chicago P.D., Dick Wolf’s latest project, was partly just another police procedural, not unlike an episode of Law & Order, and partly Low Winter Sun-esque in that the Chicago Fire spinoff was clearly attempting to have a darker tone. The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the first announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on NBC.

The Peacock did not have a good year. Only one of its new shows, "Revolution," was a true hit. Another, "Chicago Fire," got renewed by the skin of its teeth whilst the fate of a third, "Hannibal," remains uncertain.

None of last year's new comedies survived, neither did two mid-season dramas, which leaves the network with some big holes to fill. Three dramas and three comedies will debut in the Fall ahead of three more dramas and two comedies mid-season. Two further dramas and a comedy are presently unscheduled.

Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't become series including the high-profile Charlize Theron-produced drama about the Hatfields and McCoys, the Bruckheimer-produced...

The new fall season is closer than you think, and NBC has released their full schedule. Apart from reality favorites The Biggest Loser and The Voice, they are mixing things up quite a bit.

Take a look at a complete preview of the shows coming your way, and mark your calendars. It looks good for NBC this year, and while I’m not sure all of these look like winners, I think you’ll find at least a couple that you’re really going to like.

"Psych" has put forth some incredible episodes so far in Season 7 -- Shawn going rogue, found-footage, "Clue." But we would like to say that upcoming episode "Deez Nups" is our favorite of the season so far, which is a high compliment indeed.

The emotional payoff at the end of the episode is immensely satisfying and packs such a punch. We see now what star Timothy Omundson meant when he told us how great Season 7 is.

"Every year this show gets better. Every season, it just gets stronger and stronger. That so rarely happens. These guys and gals in our writers room are firing on all pistons. Season 7 just amazed me what they came up with. It is, by far, my favorite season," says Omundson. "Every season, you're going to have stronger and weaker episodes. This season, there's not a weak one in the bunch. I'm amazed, I really am."

With the 7th Season of Psych now under way, and it was finally revealed that Shawn Spencer’s father, Henry, had survived the gunshot he sustained at the end of Season 6, Psych is getting back to what it does best – making fun out of everyday life and letting the fans revel in the fun with them. As the series heads towards its 100th episode, they decided to crank up the fun-octane and do an homage to the film classic, “Clue.” During a press set visit in honor of the occassion, stars James Roday, Maggie Lawson and Timothy Omundson shared some of their favorite memories, talked about the joy of reuniting the “Clue” cast, and what lies ahead as Psych’s world of wacky adventures continues.

Psych ended last season on a pretty dark note. How does that feel for you? Are you apprehensive or worried that the audience might think...

Moderated by one of its main cast members, Tim Omundson, the Psych panel discussion at Comic-Con this afternoon got off to a typically Psych-otic start: with chugging of pineapple juice.

From there, James Roday, Dule Hill and all our favorites dished on the show's upcoming 100th episode, along with teasing the very strong possibilities of an eighth season. We'll drink to that!

We told you it would happen and here we are, five months later and a few steps closer to Atlas Shrugged: Part Two. A teaser trailer and cast updates were released for the sequel based on Ayn Rand’s novel, and with them comes the promise of another grand failure.

The film is the second in a planned three part adaptation, and those unlucky enough to have experienced the first one will find some surprises here. The dystopian storyline continues in the follow-up to the epic 2010 flop, but the lead actors have changed – Samantha Mathis replaced Taylor Schilling as railroad tycoon, Dagny Taggart, the part of Henry Rearden – originally played by Grant Bowler – went to Jason Beghe, and D.B. Sweeney stepped in for Paul Johansson in the role of John Galt. Johansson also directed the first film, but this time the job went to Duncan Scott.

Two men arrive at a building and re-stock a vending machine One of them is dating a Czech woman. A man passes them and they stare back at him. How long were they undercover that they stare when he's looking right at them. He runs and they give chase, culminating in a rooftop shoot out, where the man is shot and falls over the edge of the roof. One goes to check and tells the other to call it in. Cal (Tim Roth) leaves dinner with Gillian (Kelli Williams) and Alex (Tim Guinee), who has to work late. He seems to have misplaced his glasses. Cal follows and spies him with a blonde, whom he introduces to Cal as a friend when he returns his glasses to him. Cal is then sent a text to investigate a shooting by the Mayor's department and he and Ria (Monica Raymund) meet up...

Chicago – Who cares? Rarely has a movie been so weighed down with horrendous, expository dialogue that has no weight whatsoever as in the widely-loathed “Atlas Shrugged, Part I.” After the notoriously-reviled theatrical release ($4.6 million total domestic box office on a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes) killed the chance at a trilogy (on top of the hysterical Blu-ray labeling error), I kind of hoped the film would either surprise me with its quality or be so awful that it approached “The Room” or “Troll 2” levels of enjoyment. Nope. It’s just boring, boring, boring — the kind of film only worthwhile if you’re having trouble sleeping.
