Chengiz is better than most of the masala movies from Bengal came out in recent times. The camerawork, the colour correction, production design - the whole technical team did their best. Jeet as usual doesn't disappoint as the lead, hus charisma carries the whole show. Rohit Roy is commendable too. I wish Shataf had a bigger role and was the main antagonist. Susmita is, well, she is there. The story is done to death, the action scenes looks good but isn't something very new. The first half is very gripping, but it's the second half which loses the steam. The film becomes a tad boring, with very bland antagonists. The runtime is 2 hrs 30 mins but if the second half was edited better, the film could have been easily done in 2hrs and wouldn't have felt dragged. Watch it if you are craving for some old school gangster films.

Outstanding movie. The story is amazing. Everyone's performance is mind blowing. There is no scene that fills the bore. Bollywood or South would have earned a minimum of 500-600 crores. Finally, I can recommend watching the movie.

This film marks the comeback of Rohit Roy in Bengali cinema after 9 years since Sada Canvas released in 2014.

In 1976, Jaidev Singh finishes Rashid Khan in order to avenge his parents' death and steps into the Calcutta underworld at the age of 16, where he starts working for a powerful gangster Omar Khalid alias Nalli Bhai and also changes his name as Chengiz. After working with Nalli Bhai, Chengiz starts to establish his own crime ring across Bengal, UP and Bihar, but his life takes a turn when he has to deal with his maternal uncle ACP Samir Sinha, who is appointed to eradicate Chengiz's crime ring.

After a long time I saw a good Bengali movie, it was Jeet's previous movie Raawan, thousand times better than that movie chengiz. All of you must go to the cinema hall and buy tickets and watch it, I promise you will be filled with heart, if it becomes a super hit, more commercial films will be made in Bengali, and more Bengali films will be released all over India.

Some characters can be found similar to the people of Calcutta of that time. The story and the plot-twists are amazingly rivetting, the super gripping story will be a blockbuster hit. After a long time I watched a good Bengali movie, it was 1000 times better than Jeet previous movie Raawan. All of you must watch it in theatre at least once. It is a sure-shot blockbuster and there is a hint of its Sequel CHENGIZ 2.0 in the End. This ensures that if appreciated by viewers Bengali film industry will produce more such Pan-India and Global Quality Movies in near future.
