Jason Clarke Murdaughed It! 😳
We all know the story as presented on live TV, a Netflix series and countless podcasts and articles, but Jason Clarke's depiction of Alex Murdaugh was definitely the highlight of the series, for moi
Clarke transformed into the character and his excellent supporting cast, especially Patricia Arquette, enhanced his performance making the entire production feel genuine, factual and artistic.
It's a frightening, breathtaking true story. Hats off to Hulu for a great production on something we all now know too much about 👏🏽

Wonderful Depiction
As of now, I've only had the chance to watch the first three episodes, since that's all that's been released so far. I truly look forward to revisiting my thoughts after I've finished the series.
Having started this journey from the point where the Murdaugh Murders Podcast (now True Sunlight) was around episode 20, I feel that this series beautifully captures the deep emotions involved. Of course, some details are dramatized, but the overall feeling of how everything unfolded seems to be very well depicted. Jason Clarke's portrayal of Alex Murdaugh is nothing short of remarkable-so much so that I believe he deserves an Emmy or Golden Globe. The entire cast does an incredible job; everyone shines brightly, especially Patricia Arquette. Their performances truly resonate.
Whether you've been following the story just like I have, or are new to it, I believe this series is a compelling watch. I will definitely come back to share more thoughts once I've finished it.
Please, if you're interested, give it a try. I think you'll find it as impactful as I do.

Wonderful Show
This is a great show , so true to the spirit of the podcast. One of the criticism is that the time line involving Gloria is off. That is not really inconsistent with the overall story. The viewer truly gets a sense of what Gloria meant to Paul. The victims of this epic story are treated with respect and dignity. The acting is top notch. I can't wait to the next four episodes,
It took me two episodes but I'm impressed.
I almost bailed out during episode one, but I realized the producer/director needed to flesh-out the characters and their oppulant lifestyles before getting to the point, and now I'm glad I put down the remote. This eight-episode series is yet another example of the really great stuff Hulu has been putting out for the last five years (think back to "The Queen's Gambit").
Excellent casting choices, first of all. These characters are so real, so believable, and so immersive that, for me anyway, there were a few uncomfortable moments where I truly left my own life and stepped into theirs, the disturbing stuff and all. The excellent acting, cinematography, and musical scoring are almost emotionally magnetic, too. The directors, Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason, make sure you feel deeply-entrenched all along the process of this case. And it's an unsettling but addictive ride.
I've done some of my own research about this case (admittedly all online, so no more than the average "armchair crime investigator"), and I admire the realistic and "assumed" script-writing with regard to accuracy. Of course liberties are taken, but let's be honest, the crimes are more interesting than the people commiting them, so there is zero chance that I'd watch this eight-hour story had the writers NOT added some spices.
Throw in some intriquging location shooting sites, really captivating scoring and Foley work, and some creative direction and lighting choices and this quickly became my latest Hulu binge.

Timeline is messed up...
First of all: great acting! Funny how they indirectly mock his weight.
All in all nothing new because it was extensively covert in the media and on youtube. Still worth a watch though!
What really annoys me is the fact that the housekeeper Gloria died in 2018. Yet here, when the boat accident happens in 2019, she is still alive. Gives her a ghost like role.

Did you know
- TriviaThe Murdaugh family was prominent in a sub-region of South Carolina known as The Low-Country, which is basically the combined coastal areas surrounding Charleston and Hilton Head Island, SC, and Savannah, GA. The name refers to the region's terrain, which is entirely flat and at/near sea-level. While the preponderance of events depicted in the series occurred in The Low-Country, most of the show was actually filmed in the areas surrounding Atlanta, GA (approx. 300 miles west of where the events actually took place).
