Shot on VHS and entirely improvised during a break from filming the feature film Canibais e Solidão (2006). It was conceived as a tribute to VHS tape collectors using director Felipe M. Guerra's collection of over a thousand tapes.
The plot was partially inspired by filmmaker Felipe M. Guerra's relentless search for a copy of Luigi Cozzi's cult movie Paganini Horror (1988). Before the Internet and the popularization of torrents and file exchange apps, it took Felipe 13 years to find a tape of the film to finally be able to watch it. The inspiration is evident from the name of the priest played by Eliseu Demari, "Father Luigi".
All the scenes were filmed in 2004 and the first cut was finished in late 2007. But the short film was never released or shown anywhere. In 2011, filmmaker Guerra announced that he would shoot some more inserts to make it better and finally release the movie on YouTube. As of April 2022, this has not happened yet.
