A powerful testimony to an iconic moment in our history

Sospesi takes us back to the uncertain early days of the lockdown, a period charged with a mix of emotions-fear, anxiety, and confusion, but also the fragile hope that better days would come. Through the heartfelt testimonies of people unexpectedly stranded far from home when the pandemic struck, this documentary captures those unforgettable moments that define our collective history. It delves into the profound impact of isolation and distance, revealing the delicate balance between vulnerability and resilience in each protagonist. As these individuals grapple with the unknown, their stories intertwine to form a rich, symbolic narrative that speaks to the core of the human experience. Suspended is not just a record of events but a poignant exploration of how adversity can both challenge and strengthen us, ultimately offering a collective reflection on one of the most defining periods of our time.

    A true gem

I've been lucky enough to watch this documentary twice already and, as I always say when asked about my opinion, I believe as many people as possible should watch it. Sospesi is about the lives of Italians abroad during Covid: how they coped, what they hoped, how they reacted when it kept getting worse, how they celebrated when it got better. But Sospesi is also about each and every one of us, wherever we are from and wherever we were when Covid hit. It's all of our stories, even if they're not ours, because we can relate to them. We should all watch this documentary, so we can remember all about how it was, how it felt like, how we made it through. Because time goes fast, and it's easy to forget even when we think we won't, because 'it was too much, how could we forget?'. But just in case, do yourself a favour and give this a watch. It's a true gem.

    A must-see documentary!

From start to finish, Sospesi takes you on an emotional journey through the intimiate experiences of Italians from around the world. It will make you laugh, cry and deeply reflect on how each of us experienced the Covid pandemic in unique and interesting ways, no matter where you were or where you're from. Considering Italy was the second most effected country, I found it extremely interesting to see how Italians abroad dealt with watching their country suffer from afar, in solidarity. A true insight into the lives of Italians from all walks of life and an important historical document! Not to mention all the amazing footage that I haven't seen anywhere but in this documentary! The subtitles in English also make this film international and accessible to anyone, not just Italian speakers!

A faithful portrait... not to be missed!

When you are faced with the choice of whether to continue your living experience abroad or return home and be close to your family, the final decision is a tough one to make. This documentary has the ability to connect you to the world of those who had to ask themselves this question.

'Sospesi' will take you to a journey that will offer you points of view you probably hadn't yet considered; it will move you, inspire you, open up your mind and eyes and warm up your heart... and make you remember a moment in our history worthy of being witnessed.

A must watch for everyone out there, highly recommended!
