Dabbling in narrative filmmaking in-between his many documentaries, it was recently announced Werner Herzog was in production on his first animated feature, The Twilight World, based on his 2021 novel of the same name. Now we have another narrative project to add to his slate, one that comes with quite the intrigue in both cast and synopsis.

For the first time ever, Rooney and Kate Mara will star in a film together, Deadline reports. They’ll lead Herzog’s Bucking Fastard, which he is writing and directing. The film is based on the true story of inseparable twin sisters Joan and Jean, drawing from the lives of Freda and Greta Chaplin, who became sexually infatuated with their next-door neighbor and eventually received a restraining order. The title of the film, which begins production this spring in Ireland and Slovenia, is based on a simultaneous verbal slip the twins made in court.

During an interview with ComicPop Returns on YouTube, Tom King spoke with host Sal Crivelli to discuss his then-recent work with DC Comics such as Rorschach and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. King touched on several subjects, from his relationships with the artists of his stories to his influences as a writer.

Towards the end of the interview, the two discuss Frank Miller and Jim Lee's work on All-Star Batman and Robin. King dances around the subject, but he does mention that at one point, he was hired to write four issues to wrap up the controversial Batman story.

I hate to say this, but Law & Order: Svu is falling far short this season.

This has been my favorite show for decades. It’s the show that inspired me to write my own stories for and about survivors.

But this season, something is missing from Law & Order: Svu despite the fuller cast and some episodes that are worth a second look.

Contrary to showrunner David Graziano’s promise, Law & Order: Svu has not gone back to basics, and that’s what’s most disappointing about it.

If he hadn’t made that promise, maybe I’d be more positive about this season. The stories aren’t bad, for the most part, and the new character is enjoyable — when she’s actually featured.

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios announced a two-part animated feature based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' iconic graphic novel, Watchmen, during last year's Sdcc, and the first full trailer is set to be released online at some point tomorrow.

The movies will utilize a CG animation style, with Chapter 1 set to debut later this year and Chapter 2 in 2025. The project has been described as "a leap forward for our DC Cinematic Animation."

The first trailer teased some key moments from the story that are sure to be familiar to fans of the comic - and Zack Snyder's live-action adaptation! There's no getting away from the fact that this looks a lot like the 2009 movie, which, to be fair, did also recreate numerous panels from the page.

Malayalam superstar Mammootty has flagged off his 2023 with the new movie helmed by cinematographer-turned-director, Roby Vargheese Raj. The movie, according to insiders, is a crime thriller and Mammootty joined the crew on January 1 on the sets of the movie at Pala in Kottayam district. His arrival was marked by the cutting of a cake and New Year celebrations as well.

The script of the movie is by Mohammed Shafi and it has been co-scripted by Rony David Raj, the director’s brother. Mohammed Rahil is wielding the camera and Malayalam cinema’s prolific music director, Sushin Shyam, is composing the music. Praveen Prabhakar presides over the editing table.

Produced by Mammootty’s production house, Mammootty Kampany, the movie will be shot across Kerala and in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Walter Kovacs isn't the only person to take on the mantle of Rorschach in the world of Watchmen. However, the brief stint of Rorschach's replacement may have revealed the hidden superpower that's kept the original one alive as long as he's been.

Of all the heroes in Watchmen, one of the most dedicated to their work is the brutal, street-level detective Rorschach. Though he spends his days walking among the people, disguised as a simple, shabbily-dressed man bandying a foreboding sign, Rorschach is actually one of the most intimidating costumed adventurers around. Criminals all across the city of New York fear Rorschach, due to his intense intimidation tactics and his eerie tolerance of pain. No matter what is thrown at the vigilante, Rorschach pushes through until he gets what he's looking for. Though he's nearly met his maker dozens of times, it's all just another day for Watchmen's iconic hero.

It seems that the fate of Rorschach in Watchmen all boils down to one decision that even the vigilante himself regrets. Before Watchmen: Rorschach reveals a road not taken for Walter Kovacs, one that could have deterred the hero from the path he ultimately went down.

The story of Rorschach is not a very happy one. Born Walter Kovacs, the son of a sex-worker and a man who abandoned him, Kovacs was routinely abused in his youth by his mother and ostracized by his community. Walter decided to become a vigilante after hearing about the gruesome murder of Kitty Genovese, adopting a new 'face' to distance himself from humanity. For nearly twenty years, Kovacs operated as Rorschach, even after costumed adventurers were outlawed via the Keene Act. In one of the most shocking reveals of Watchmen's world, it seems the superhero story also takes place in the world of Taxi Driver. Before Watchmen: Rorschach #3 features the title hero meeting a particularly notable character from Martin Scorsese's classic film.

Taxi Driver came out in 1976 and stars Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Cybil Shepherd, and Harvey Keitel. The story centers around De Niro, who portrays Travis Bickle, a former marine who returns to New York and takes up a job as a late-night taxi driver. As Bickle works his job, the sleaze and decay of New York City disgusts him, causing him to take matters into his own hands to clean the city up. The movie was critically lauded and remains a cornerstone of director Martin Scorsese's career. However, the film was also criticized for its use of graphic violence, as well as its frank sexual themes.
