Timothy takes the life of an electrician and draws up the murder as an illustration for the novel The Master and Margarita. The police officers Sanya and Max, who arrived at the scene of the crime, blame everything on the "trappers" stealing electricity. Such a banal version just infuriates Timofey, but in the evening he is visited by a new investigator from the city, Olga, who notices Timofey's motives in the crime.

Motivated by Olga's conjectures, Timofey decides to commit a crime based on Romeo and Juliet. He watches a couple of schoolchildren, but by coincidence, drug dealers become his victims. From policemen Sanya and Max, Timofey learns that Olga was assigned to investigate the capercaillie in order to send her back to the city for incompetence.

Timofey helps Olga to uncover the capercaillie with the mystical disappearance of the monument to Zhukov last year. The head of the local administration is arrested, and the governor, who visited Sosnovka, orders that Olga be left in the village longer. Timofey is pleased with this turn, only an unexpected opponent appears on his way.

Timofey learns that Olga's boyfriend is the famous blogger Polensky. Drawing a parallel with Vladimir Lensky from "Eugene Onegin", the homegrown maniac is already preparing a plan for a new murder. Meanwhile, Olga tries to investigate Timofey's past literary crimes.

Sosnovsky maniac receives the first order. He is approached by Angela, who claims to have seen Timofey kill Polensky. In exchange for silence, she asks to kill her husband Tolya, because he prevents her from building happiness with the police chief Palych. Timofey has an illustration for Othello in his head, and he is already planning a new crime.

Olga continues to dig under the Sosnovka maniac and goes on the trail of Masha Lopukhova, who went missing a year ago. And Timofey is trying to complete the perfect illustration of the murder committed the day before based on Othello and indulges in memories of childhood.

The ignorance of the local police, forces Timofey to think about revenge. He plans to assassinate police chief Palych based on Gogol's novel "Viy" - to scare him to death in an old church - and uses the deceased Angela as bait.

Two months pass. Timofey retired from the morgue and buried a saw, a knife and a crossbow in the garden and is degrading in front of the TV. Olga works in the police department in Garnaevsk, where, at the request of her superiors, she visits a strange citizen who turns out to be the mother of the missing Masha Lopukhova. Olga begins to put the puzzle together.
