The ads for this new 4 part series sounded like a good idea with 4 women supporting each other over the ups and downs of love and life. But the first episode was somewhat disappointing. The characters were likeable enough, and the idea of two pen pals finding each other was a cute idea, but there were too many instances where there was dishonesty, deception, and pretence. You have to wonder how any relationship could start like that and survive. The characters are all in their 30's but act like silly teenagers. I have enjoyed both Marcus and Brittany in other movies but this was definitely not their best effort. Perhaps the next one in the series will improve and show more maturity and realism.

5.9 stars.
Somewhere amidst a genius concoction, and a cast of potentially likable characters, stands "The Love Club". Unfortunately, I felt the need to bail out after a sassy girl and a prissy girl let a seemingly genuine guy have a thorough whipping; meanwhile another girl remained neutral and the last girl was somewhat indifferent. After all of this confusion had transpired and "The Love Club" had been devastated by the bull in a china shop that I will refer to as a dead end script and a lifeless pairing of two actors, I am spent...
What a supreme disappointment that started off so full of promise, with an original idea and four women who appeared to be up to the challenge. I lost interest as It was starting to deflate a quarter of the way in, and was totally flat by the half-way point. I stuck around simply out of curiosity to witness the inevitable derailment of one of the most wrecked stories ever given the green light by Hallmark.
The lead female is completely impossible. I have liked her in every other role she's done, so why did they have to ruin her for this? She comes off as rigid and snappy, and not a woman I'd pine for even remotely as he does. The other three women are hit and miss and I could delve into each one individually, but I don't feel like taking the extra time. I will simply add that they don't jive as a group of old friends, but rather seem forced and awkward too often, especially for women in their 30's.
And then there's the final reveal of the true pen pal, which was most unwanted and best left a mystery as I shivered in revulsion at the whole scene.
This film is rotten. WARNING: KEEP OUT!

It was boring from the very first few minutes.
It was unbelievable the story and the cast had no real relationship with each other even the friends.
It was a lie movie.
But not only that it was not interesting to watch.
The plot was awful, I kept on hoping to enjoy it even a little bit.
I think they tried to copy The Wedding Veil 👰 Series but not even close. I loved the entire Wedding Veil Series but this deserves only 1 star for trying.
These are 30 year old actresses why were they trying to act like teenagers??
They looked so bored lol
Sorry but I never hated a movie so much.
I was looking forward to this.
Don't waste your time... Just awful in every way.

This "movie" is absolutely one of the most horrible in Hallmark's history. Truly unwatchable and disgusting. The actors should feel guilty to grace this this "film" with their presence. (Talk about selling out for the Benjamins!!) Disgusting in every way. Terrible script and storyline. For instance, the hapless "fiancé" was treated as disposal, insignificant trash by the lead female actor, who was portrayed as an innocent, helpless "love"victim (I won't mention her real name for fear of permanently associating her acting career with this piece of garbage). Needless to say, the writers, producers, and actors responsible for this movie should be ashamed of themselves. PLEASE don't produce any followup films and the thought of a "Love Club" series is terrifying.
I can't believe someone actually put money into making this movie, and that the script was approved. I stayed until the end, to be able to review it and see if something improved by the end of the picture, but everything kept getting worse. This isn't even a movie to watch when you don't want to pay attention and watch your cellphone, because the bad acting and script will make your head hurt.
And they say this is part of a series of movies? Sorry, this was more than enough. The only good part of it is that I turned off the TV and grabbed a book to ease my mind and nurture it after too much dumbness.

Although I was very happy to see Brittany Bristow and Marcus Rosner in the leading roles, this movie was extremely difficult to sit through and I could hardly wait for it to end. I became bored fairly early in and it was ridiculous for the Nicole character to be so upset with Josh when she, herself, was an audacious liar. With regard to the girlfriends, the Tara character was the least likable on so many levels. These actors may be talented but no one could possibly make that determination from this movie since they were shortchanged by a really bad script and direction. I plan to skip any of the other movies in this series as this was not an enjoyable experience. Hallmark, you can do better!

I have a high tolerance for Hallmark movies but this was horrid. Maybe the plot would work if the characters were middle schoolers but they are adults. You know Nicole is in trouble when one of her first lines is about wanting to find a man to complete her. Fast forward ten years and she still has the same mind set. She ends up engaged to a guy who is a caricature of the typical Hallmark bad boyfriend, which is saying something. So she sets out to find her college pen pal with whom she felt a connection by cyberstalking him then messing with the remodeling of his business. Which he finds okay because he too felt a connection. That's all in the first third of the movie. It just goes downhill from there.
There were some funny lines and I liked Josh but Nicole is so neurotic and insecure I just couldn't finish. She should be a cautionary tale, not the heroine. And this movie falls into the sexist trope that the woman can lie and scheme with impunity but let the man out one for wrong and he has to grovel for forgiveness. No thanks.

The plot of this movie was awful. It was hard to get through. The lead in the movie "Nic" was insufferable. She lied about everything but gave Josh a hard time about his lies. I did not root for them to get together. I felt Josh could do better.
Nic spent the entire movie chasing the author of some letter from 10 years prior. And like most Hallmark movies it takes to the very end for her to discover that she was wrong. I know Hallmark lost a lot of their lead actresses/actors last year. Did they also lose their writers. Hallmark 2023 has been kinda bad so far. I'm holding out hope that it will get better.

I just had to come here and check out the ratings as I watched this monstrosity of a movie. It was just horrible. One of the worst movies I've ever watched on Hallmark. Seems like they were going for a Wedding Veil vibe with the girlfriends thing. It really was a dud from the beginning. The lack of emotion boyfriend/fiance. The sloppy proposal. Her fiance was barely mentioned again during this liefest. It just got worse and worse as the movie went along. I kept hoping something would happen to redeem this movie but it never happened. The lead was upset he lied when she was the biggest liar of them all. So much deception. Just hated this movie and all the characters. The bar guy might have been the only decent one in the movie. The whole wellness studio thing was so stupid. If you want to watch a horrible movie, by all means, watch this stinker that really isn't even worthy of 1*.

To paraphrase "Jerry Maguire", this movie had me at the first sequence. There we have four dejected young women who barely know each other, meet at a New Year party, and grieve about having gotten dumped. The lead character, Nic, comes out we the words: "We are four strong women...", while they look miserable and hapless. This did alert me to what was coming. Of course, they turned out to be four unlikable characters with the psychology of a four-year-old with attention deficit and the morals of feral cats. These heroines, who expect to find and deserve 'the one' eternal love, resort to, or encourage, cheating and lying to reach that goal, with such unabashed superficiality that probably explains why they were dumped, should be dumped, and avoided like poison. What follows becomes irrelevant, awkward, illogical, when not appalling. The movie remains unpleasant, boring, devoid of credibility or redeeming aspects. It made me realize that, although I thought I liked Brittany Bristow, I have never watched a movie in which she starred as the lead actress that I have ever wanted to see again o even could watch entirely. Whether the problem has been the poor quality of the scripts or her lack of a real personality, every single one I, now, remember as insipid or annoying. Is she getting so many roles because of her father being a producer?
I understand that this film is intended to be the first installment of a four-part series dedicated to the love adventures of the four ladies here introduced. Based on the the insight appreciated in the first production and the the appeal of these heroines, I already know I will stay away from the Hallmark channel on those dates. I may have to search for reruns of Gilligan's Island, so much more entertaining ad intelligent than this.
As a long standing Hallmark aficionado I was prepared to accept some "hit or miss" consistency in their offerings. Yet, lately the "misses" have become almost a standard, which I find disheartening.

1st I'm going to rate the DVS (Descriptive Video) service that ruined my wife from watching (listening) to the Love Club movies. My wife is legally blind but has some vision, we use the DVS to help her navigate through the movies.
Here's what DVS is supposed to do:
Video description (sometimes called "audio description" or simply "description") makes television programs and movies accessible for people who are blind or visually impaired.
Short verbal descriptions of action or key visual scenes in a program, such as the setting, costumes, and facial expressions, are provided to add context.
DVS is supposed to be an enhancement to the movie not take over the movie. This DVS service was louder than the talking in the movie, but also talked OVER the characters in the movie. Sometimes you get a group of people together and a couple of few are talking at the same time, then you don't comprehend what anyone is saying. Same can be said about DVS that takes over the movie.
I would have given the movies a 3 or 4 rating. Not Hallmark quality and rather juvenile but have to rate it as a 0 (oops only goes down to 1) because of the DVS.
Couldn't find the DVS service company to complain to them, if anyone finds out please let me know.
They tried to copy the Wedding Veil theme, which had great actors/actresses , which this didn't. Theme was bland and a lot of lying and terrible scripting.
Really disappointed in Hallmark movies in general the last couple of years. I always check on lead characters in the Hallmark movies to see if I want to watch it.
I want to go back to the pre 2019 moves.
I'm not a writer and this is only the 2nd time I'm written on IMDB but had to say something about the DVS service.

I don't usually write reviews but this movie was such a disappointment and I reached my limit with Hallmark's diminishing quality. I don't expect award winning writing, my expectations are reasonable. I have come to the conclusion thought that Hallmark does not employ a script supervisor for any of their films. Endless continuity issues and adolescent writing skills frequently damage what could be entertaining stories. It's disrespectful to viewers. This movie was barely tolerable. I could list several questionable examples but I honestly don't want to give more energy to this movie than I already have. If they use the same writers on the next segment expect the same subpar quality. Hallmark can be charming and touching fare, a guilty pleasure. I wonder if there was a shift when several actors (who are not all missed) left for another channel. The movies Hallmark has put out since at least the holidays have been less than gripping. The mystery channel movies have been significantly more engaging and interesting than the standard HMC. Hallmark, please do better.

I couldn't finish Nicole's story, as it's a story told over and over. Not even Marcus Rosner could keep me interested in continuing to watch.
The one with the lady having to pick between her soon to be ex husband and the other guy, couldn't bother finishing watching it either. The friend group lacks energy and I could tell how the story would end, and I was right. So what was the point hallmark??
The last installment was ok. Actually watched it from start to finish and it was cute.
But Sydney, O M G! The man clearly doesn't want her, but she's seriously been sitting around for 10 years pining over him!? "I want him to see that I belong in his future!" Girl get some self esteem and new friends! Because the way they needs to talk some serious sense into her, yet they sit there and let her carry on with this desperate mentality!? Who writes this mess?? I had to turn it off and I don't care to see it again!
