Geostorm

I enjoyed my viewing. I was screaming at the tv worse than my dad during football sundays. It was action packed, emotional, occasionally funny...I was only bored in the beginning when it was getting started. Kinda reminded me of cloudy with a chance of meatballs for adults. Seriously, chill out people. This is a fun movie.

If you want a science documentary, pass on this.

If you want to be very entertained, watch this.

Man I thought this movie was great! Had tons of action and I enjoyed the story. Not sure why other users gave this such low ratings. I say give this movie a chance!

This film tells the story of a network of satellites that controls weather. When the satellites fail, the world is in for apocalyptic weather that will end humanity.

The trailer appears to tell people that "Geostorm" is a natural disaster thriller. The explosions in Hong Kong are breathtaking, and the tsunami in Dubai is very convincing that it looks real. Just the extreme weather scenes are quite impressive already, but what the trailer doesn't tell you is that there is a major conspiracy subplot in the film as well. The conspiracy keeps you guessing what is happening, and maintains a heightened level of suspense and thrill. The interaction of the two brothers is very good as well, as they go from being estranged to reaching resolution. It is very touching. I thoroughly enjoyed this film, and it's an unexpectedly calendaring natural disaster and political thriller.

And when I say good, I don't mean like excellent. But it's good, you should not be offended by it. I never watched this in the cinema, where I guess the movie might have impacted some people more than others. I don't even want to go near a comparisson with Jurassic Park (way better handled overall as a movie), but when it comes to story vs. technical achievements, there are similarities ... also when it comes to what you consider to help like a movie more or less.

Butler is doing his thing and everyone else tries their best, but there is not much there. Some technical talk that may or may not make sense (I didn't really pay attention), with just a smudge of social commentary (climate change and all that) ... the main point is the movie tries to entertain and achieves that to a certain degree. Not quality time, but if you're into it ...
