Briana Loves Rocco

1 review

Dreadful and insulting

David Stanley provides PT with one of his worst scripts in this strictly-for-the-bucks vehicle for Rocco Siffredi, whose big dick meant big boxoffice when humping famous Vivid stars like Jenna Jameson or in this case BB.

It's one of VIvid's free-trip to Europe productions, with local porn lady Anita Rinaldi serving as PT's production manager. Stanley has created a pretentious structure for the non-story, rather than letting well enough alone and merely having the big stars hump each other in gonzo fashion for a couple of hours.

Alberto Rey plays a college professor, teaching a film class with a textbook titled Violence in Cinema. He pompously discusses the approach of Pasolini, giving Stanley & PT a chance to try and impress us with their cinema literacy, but the actual video is strictly hackwork, with extremely poor continuity.

A jumbled time structure for the scenes is made worse by sudden fantasy sequences involving co-ed (overage at that) Briana Banks catching the eye on the streets of Budapest of pornographer Rocco Siffredi. He may as well be playing himself, as we see him shooting gonzo porn including (ambiguously) Banks as his leading lady (or is that just another fantasy?). In the BTS on the DVD PT whispers to the camera how he wisely lets Rocco direct his own scenes, merely amplifying the pernicious effect RS has had on Adult Cinema, infecting not only Paul Thomas movies but especially the work of Buttman.

All of this is an excuse for extreme sex scenes, culminating in a terrible outburst of violence in the final reels, meant to mirror the philosophy of Pasolini. Because this is mainstream porn, the violence is either off-screen or mildly suggested (e.g., choking, which of course is de rigeur for fetish porn). Either way, the viewer, especially anyone addicted to Vivid Video and its contract girls (and endless annoying commercials planted up-front on the videos before the feature begins), is jerked around and insulted by Stanley and his shoulda-known-better employer PT.
