After barely managing to survive an attack on their flotilla by the fearsome Pirate Lord Lazlo, Helen and Enola manage to sneak their way onto The Miranda and strike a flimsy deal with its captain, Morgan.
Helen and Enola are traded away to a troupe of submariners and quickly find themselves captured by the same pirates who decimated their home. Enola is drugged and leads the pirates back to Morgan.
Morgan, Helen, and others flee the pirate flotilla but soon stumble upon a massive vessel that turns out to be a tanker ship. There, they meet its sole resident, Cornelius, and discover the secret of Enola's unique tattoo.
