If you want to watch something that will make you laugh out loud, is just a bit of lighthearted fun, doesn't have a million complicated twists and turns and is intentionally hammy, then sit back and enjoy. A really enjoyable cast - Vegas is hilarious, Ryan's dry cutting humour is spot on (need to watch more of her stuff for sure) and Ranganathan has some quality moments. Sure, it's no classic but if you want something to help wind down your busy day and put a big smile on your face, then this is it! Great fun!! Obviously leaves itself wide open for season 2, which will hopefully come sooner than later!
This is possibly the least funny comedy I've seen, ever. Romesh couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, I don't know why production companies keep giving him airtime (especially after Reluctant Landlord). He just stands around looking clueless for the majority of the show. The storyline is a series of idiotic choices that no sane (or insane) person would ever make. Worst of all they've managed to make Johnny Vegas unfunny. Not one character was in any way believable. This could have been good, the basic concept wasn't too bad, shame the acting was so poor with zero chemistry between the couple who wanted a family. They feel more like siblings who fell out a long time ago, not lovers who are desperate for children. Utter dross.
Katherine Ryan's acting is amateur and unconvincing.
I have always, enjoyed her comedy, in the past and hilarious comments, on shows.
Seemed to be the smart one but made so many wrong, stupid choices.
She was expressionless. It didn't matter, whether she was happy, sad, or frightened. Flat effect.
Too much Botox, for an actress.
Johnny Vegas, Romesh, and the main bad guy were believable. Great acting, although,Romesh switched from a scared rabbit to an angry lion, constantly.
Writer did a terrible job, with followthrough and logic.
Much of the storyline did not make sense. It looked like parts of the story was cut out.
Liked the ending. Convincing.

Now from looking at trailers this seemed like it would be funny, unfortunately in my opinion it was well under par, not really funny and pretty poor acting from timeshare and Katherine, think they needed a half decent director who maybe could of helped improve they're acting, a lot of acting coaching is required to improve the series, the last episode doesn't complete the series so looks like we're in for a disappointment of a second series, was very disappointed and wouldn't recommend for people to especially make the effort to watch it, I would suggest find something funnier with better reviews to watch.
Just finished watching this tonight and overall it was entirely enjoyable. I didn't weep with laughter but there were plenty of chuckles to keep me entertained and it was refreshing to watch a show with half an hour episodes for a change.
The premise was interesting, the execution ridiculous, which is what you expect in a comedy, and the ending sufficiently satisfying. The "uncle" Ketan character was an absolute show stealer.
I particularly enjoyed the storyline of the tax office arriving to audit them...probably even less likely than how easily Romesh's character stole and fenced a Ferrari!!
7/10.
