Robert Hasfogel is a pseudonym. The film ended up having (at least) two directors. The original director later wrote on his website: "A no-budget feature film was two-thirds of the way through shooting until we realized that the screenwriter had plagiarized some parts of the book from somewhere and the fourth actor then became the boss of the whole thing and the new lead, lied to the team (which you should never do), rewrote the script and the characters (which you should never do) and brought in new team members, an editor and a co-writer behind my back (which you should never do), whereupon I threw in the towel in anger and withdrew my name. The whole thing was finalized, a terribly vain farce - as you can see, it still moves me today."
