The AMC Networks August 2025 schedule serves up thrills and chills with programming across its suite of networks and streaming services.

The August lineup includes the season finale of AMC Original adventure series Nautilus; new Acorn TV crime drama Irish Blood; the crime drama Kidnapped on AMC+; and the season finales of Acorn TV’s popular The Madame Blanc Mysteries and Sundance TV’s gripping docuseries The Furry Detectives: Unmasking A Monster.

The month also features new seasons of Sundance TV’s True Crime Story: Smugshot and We TV’s fan-favorite series Life After Lockup.

Film premieres include the streaming debut of Shudder’s record-breaking slasher Clown in a Cornfield; Sundance Now’s action-packed revenge thriller Tornado; a documentary exploring Black land ownership and environmental sustainability in Family Tree; and Shudder’s Irish folk horror The Twin.

AMC Networks’ Shudder has announced the titles that will be available on the streaming service next month. The Shudder August 2025 slate includes horror, thriller, and supernatural titles.

The August schedule includes the films Clown in a Cornfield and The Twin, the series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, and more.

Shudder’s expanding library of films, TV series, and original content is available on most streaming devices in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

A college student suspects a series of bizarre deaths are connected to certain urban legends. Directed by Jamie Blanks, the film stars Jared Leto, Alicia Witt, and Rebecca Gayheart.

A film school is the center of a fresh spate of killings based on urban legends.

“Some days I’m really excited about the possibilities,” says Finnish producer Aleksi Hyvärinen. “The next day, I’m like, ‘Wait, is this even a good thing?’”

That tension, between optimism and unease, set the tone for a two-day workshop at this year’s Amman International Film Festival, where Hyvärinen led a session titled AI and Filmmaking: A Grounded Guide as part of the festival’s Amman Film Industry Days program. Hyvärinen, who co-founded The Alchemist, a Nordic creative studio combining storytelling and AI to create “emotionally intelligent” content for film, TV and branded media, guided the workshop that skipped coding and tech demos in favor of a far more nuanced goal: getting real about what AI means for the future of storytelling.

“It turned into two days of discussion,” Hyvärinen recalls. “We didn’t dive into generating videos or learning software. That’s not where the real urgency lies.
