A Room by the Road

I love beautiful movies. If a film is eye-candy with carefully designed decorations, masterful camerawork, lighting, and a director with talent, then I am all eyes from beginning to end. This film is masterful. From the premise to the nail-biting end! As usual for intriguing films, you're typically left wanting more. This film is structured to let the audience decide on the ending for themselves, which I feel is clever on the directors part. It leaves it in the "eye of the beholder", if you know what I mean. I can't help but re watch this over and over and each time I catch more clues and objectives that I hadn't before. CLEVER is the word for this short film. Well balanced and definitely gritty, though it does leave the viewer in suspense hoping for closure, when which the viewer is challenged to imagine the worst. Really good outing for a raw, real, indy short, though! The cinematography and soundtrack are very good! I did notice a couple of minor inaccuracies that would have been remedied by a bit more knowledge about firearms and ballistics, but these in no way took away from storyline or desperate downward spiral that the viewer is watching. I could definitely see this being a series of shorts, each telling some similar and very relatable story about friendships and bad ideas gone very wrong, and the aftermaths that these can trigger. I'm intrigued.
