This goes beyond Star Wars, beyond sci fi, this was the greatest piece of film, cinema, tv, and movie that I've ever seen. It was perfect. I created my account 30 seconds after finishing the episode to write this. The suspense, the emotion, the pure evil, the story arcs, the character build, everything coming together in a wonderfully beautiful chasm of bedlam, chaos, and struggle. May never see a better piece of cinema ever.
Star Wars has found its edge once again with Andor. If only Boba, Acolyte, and others could've followed the rated-R style of writing in this. As opposed to the recent, PG nonsense.

Genuinely one of the greatest episodes of television to ever exist hands down period. You know exactly what is going to happen, every character knows what's going to happen, and yet there is truly nothing anyone can do to stop it. This episode truly embodies the evil of imperialism and totalitarianism. There is no one that can save you, no one trying to keep you safe, and there is nothing you are anyone can do. By the end of the episode, everyone is left devastated. I really appreciated how they choose to portray Dedra specifically, some point during the middle she says "this is happening with or without us" and I think that perfectly represents the true power of the empire. Everyone is a cog in the great machine, and no one can stop it. And Dedra isn't cold or heartless which is probably the most sadistic part of the whole thing. She is essentially forced to commit genocide and by the end of the episode she struggles not to breakdown, even in private she can't help but try to hold her self together because that is what fascism does. It forces you to be complicit, it forces you to strip yourself of your humanity. You can't feel guilt or pain. Horrifying stuff.

One of the best episodes I have ever seen.
All the build-up and character developments led to this episode.
This episode was intensity at its highest form and as evil as only the Empire can be. Showing the polar opposites between the rebels and the Empire, and complexities within.
If you have been disappointed with the 2nd season so far, know that this episode makes it all worth it and then some. Just like season 1, it takes time to build up the story and the complexities within the characters and then strikes down as Lightning.
Absolute legendary episode and I cant wait to see where this second half of the season takes us.

The 3 episode stretch that dropped today might be some of the best material of Star Wars not only in decades, but the argument could be made for all time. Yes, this is that good. 1x10 was terrific as well as the S1 finale, but this is the clear peak of the series so far, and has made the build up until this point worth every second. Funny enough with Revenge of the Sith returning to theaters, Andor simultaneously airing as well puts a huge spotlight on this season that's very much deserving. After season 1 it was no secret this story had something special to it, but these episodes solidified it as one of the best experiences in modern television. Severance, Invincible & The Last of Us have shown some all time great tv already but this might just top all of them, and this year alone might just beat the stacked 2022 for best year of tv this decade. I think if it can stay more consistent then clone wars & mandalorian (which I think is likely) this'll be by far the best piece of Star Wars media in tv, and by the time next week comes and it's all said and done it'll have an argument for the best fictional Star Wars story from beginning to end.
No words to describe the feeling of watching this episode, but this is peak everything, while writing this I am still processing everything that I witnessed, what a show, what a feeling, simply marvelous.
The brilliance of this resides on the fact that I can't wait to finish this show and rewatch Rogue One and episodes IV through VI, the absolute disgust that the empire representa and ironically the parallels that we actually see in your daily news is just baffling, absolutely frightening yet inspiring.
Tony Gilroy you absolute genius this show is brilliance, it might not feel formulaic but in its very core THIS IS STAR WARS.
