Democracy at Work (2012)

Trivia

Democracy at Work

Edit
Alex Knudsen was the only performer who did not have to audition for the film. He was a friend of the writer/director and the role of the Photographer was written for him.
The Radio Station set that Steven Mime broadcasts his show from was an actual working Radio station, and several programs were being broadcast on a lower level while filming took place above.
The Film was shot entirely in the Los Angeles area. The Campaign office was an empty H&R Block in Lawndale, the dentist office was a working Dentist Office near the University Park district, Dr. Mike's office was an office complex in Van Nuys, the Radio Station was a real working radio station in Burbank, and the Photo studio was an empty warehouse in Hancock park that at one time was a speak easy in the 20's.
The original dentist office was supposed to be in Santa Monica however while waiting to sign the location agreements in the waiting area the producers learned that the Dentist was going to move locations in a week and his office neglected to tell them. Subsequently, the production scrambled to find a location and fortunately was able to secure a dentist office that fit perfectly with the directors vision.
Filming was on an extremely tight schedule, the average shooting day was around 40 shots with the most being 62 shots in one day.
