VERY SNEAKY .......Not the one everyone as been waiting over 30 years for its a cheap and very badly made film hoping to cash in on the Top gun Maverick FILM ......It must have cost at least £ 9.99 and the massive cast (all 6 of them ) watch at your own peril .........
In the 2020 one, at list it was some kind of movie star (Eric Roberts). In the second (2022) only the effects were some kind, so consider to try another action movie, even without the name "Top Gun-ner"! :)
I saw this title at Walmart and was immediately draw to how goofy the plot sounded. Instead of directly copying Top Gun, it would at least be a sort of impending disaster/action movie. Being my first Asylum film I had low expectations, but it was okay. Not drastically boring, a fair deal of the acting wasn't terrible, and the plot generally made sense despite some weird twists and lots of nonsensical details. But I was very surprised that as many of the aviation-related details were huge misses, there were some relatively good ones thrown in. Despite the flight deck being wrong for the plane shown externally, they obviously got access to a full 737 simulator and used elements of it somewhat well, even if it wasn't always correct. The random shot of an Airbus throttle quadrant near the end had me rolling though, it's like they threw that in to see who's been paying attention or the editor grabbed a stock clip without even watching it.
For something to sit and watch seriously to get invested, it's a pass. But for a movie to not take too seriously and just have a good time watching with friends it's alright. I do have to pull one star because of the blatant rip-off. Just from this, I feel like Asylum could have potential if they stopped leaning so hard into mockbusters. Sinking a little more time and talent info visual fx, and getting writing consultants to help story flow could help make for better movies since they're obviously having a good time making these.

Lover them or hate them, it's The Asylum baby. I can see a lot of you are new, so here's the information to help understand the greatest low budget, straight to video, mockbuster production company ever.
The Asylum is an American independent film company and distributor that focuses on producing low-budget, direct-to-video films. The company has produced titles that capitalize on productions by major studios, often using film titles and scripts very similar to those of current blockbusters in order to lure customers. These titles have been dubbed "mockbusters" by the press.

Lets be honest. It's an asylum movie so what did you expect?
Bad effects? Check.
Bad dialogue? Check.
Bad plot? I would say the plot was... interestingly bad.
It's a good comedy.
The most fun part to me is that the name has nothing to do with the movie other that they put some fighter jet scenes to scam people that it is the new Tom Cruise movie.
I have seen worse.

- TriviaThe first Top Gunner film was released to capitalize on the release of Top Gun: Maverick, but that film was delayed repeatedly due to Covid. This sequel was released to capitalize on the actual release of the much-delayed blockbuster.
- GoofsOver a full minute passes from the time the plane is shown leaving the ground to when the pilots are advised they must stay below 1,300ft- their autopilot control panel shows an indicated altitude of under 900ft. A 747-8 would be likely be around 2,000-2,500ft at this point on climbout.
