Only reason would buy dvd/blu-rays of this was if selling them as a job for clay pigeon targets. I know actors/film makers need to earn a living, but doing these will never forward your career.
This film was made to scam people into renting/buying the wrong Top Gun movie. It is incredibly low production value.
They had planes that would magically change between takeoff and landing.

Well, with another brilliant release from The Asylum, you know pretty much what you are in for here. Yup, another mockbuster cashing in on the potent success of another blockbuster. And this time it is, well, isn't pretty obvious with a title like "Top Gunner: Danger Zone"?
Right, well I was expecting "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" to be a movie about brash fighter pilots doing reckless things in high altitudes and at high speeds. Yeah, that is what the movie's title would imply. But lo and behold, writer Marc Gottlieb opted to go a wholly different direction here with his script and storyline for "Top Gunner: Danger Zone". Yeah. Instead of high altitude and high speed, we have an action thriller about an explosive device on a commercial airliner.
Talk about not meeting the expectations here.
If you look aside from the movie's horrible title and the thing it is meant to cash in upon, and look at "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" as an action thriller with an airliner carrying an explosive device, then the movie isn't actually all that bad.
Of the entire cast ensemble, then I was only familiar with Michael Paré here. I will say, though, that the cast in the movie were actually putting on good performances in bringing their characters and the story to life on the screen.
Visually then "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" was actually surprisingly good, for a production from The Asylum. Just goes to prove that every now and again then The Asylum does up their game and strap up and deliver something worthwhile.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with "Top Gunner: Danger Zone", because it wasn't the lousy mockbuster that I was expecting it to be from the very moment of seeing The Asylum's name appear on the screen. However, this is hardly a movie that I will return to watch a second time.
My rating of "Top Gunner: Danger Zone" lands on a five out of ten stars.

Lover them or hate them, it's The Asylum baby. I can see a lot of you are new, so here's the information to help understand the greatest low budget, straight to video, mockbuster production company ever.
The Asylum is an American independent film company and distributor that focuses on producing low-budget, direct-to-video films. The company has produced titles that capitalize on productions by major studios, often using film titles and scripts very similar to those of current blockbusters in order to lure customers. These titles have been dubbed "mockbusters" by the press.

In the 2020 one, at list it was some kind of movie star (Eric Roberts). In the second (2022) only the effects were some kind, so consider to try another action movie, even without the name "Top Gun-ner"! :)

- TriviaThe first Top Gunner film was released to capitalize on the release of Top Gun: Maverick, but that film was delayed repeatedly due to Covid. This sequel was released to capitalize on the actual release of the much-delayed blockbuster.
- GoofsOver a full minute passes from the time the plane is shown leaving the ground to when the pilots are advised they must stay below 1,300ft- their autopilot control panel shows an indicated altitude of under 900ft. A 747-8 would be likely be around 2,000-2,500ft at this point on climbout.
