It was a different kind of tribute and I was going to stop it and watch something else. It was a celebration of Bob Saget's life and what he meant to everybody on the show. Some parts of it I had to fast forward because it got really boring. It could have been better. I would have liked to see clips of Full House/Fuller House. Jim Carrey looked really bad on it.
It's awesome that this was made, but... Jeff Ross and Jim Carrey? I'm sure that guy was great in the 90s but he's such an annoying self-centered ego-maniac no one gets to speak or even have a moment on stage without him interrupting.
Even when he manages to sit still and let others say a few words you can see him smirking and looking around, wondering how we can steal some attention.
I can't stand that guy. Even now when we should be talking about the awesome Bob Saget I'm writing about Jim Carrey and hating every moment of it.
I assume Netflix just invited all the "big names" it could, regardless of their affiliation with the subject in question, as usual. So that's why we have hacks like Jeff Ross, the recently-slapped Chris Rock, and Jim Carrey, instead of people Saget actually hung around with.
Good thing Stamos was there, at least. He's a good dude.

A lot of people have remarked how awkward and messy some of this is and how some of the people involved seem uncomfortable or socially inappropriate or awkward or even inebriated etc. Etc.... That is precisely what made this feel so genuine to me because it was exactly like a real memorial service. People are ALWAYS awkward and tense or socially odd because death is a very hard thing for people to cope with and share on the same level.
SO yeah, this was not a perfectly scheduled, timed, and choreographed big budget show. Instead it was raw and real and messy and truly felt like a whole big bunch of people coming together to celebrate someone who meant a lot to all of them.

Hands down, this was a MAJOR disappointment.
It's a haphazard piece of garbage thrown together in 15 seconds.
Unfunny, boring, and hard to watch.
Jim Carey tries to hog the stage throughout. He's an embarrassment and yesterday's news.

I was eagerly looking forward to this tribute, but, ultimately, I feel bad for saying this, it failed. The Norm tribute was so amazing, I set my hopes too high for Saget's show.
First of all, Jim Carrey. Jim felt out of place, needing too be in front of the camera as much as he could. Were Bob and Jim " real friends?"
I guess I was hoping, or thought, this would have been five comics each tell a set, but it's more clip reels and " discussing." They show "part' of the memorial service, yet only show Tim Allen and Coullier??
The band didn't add anything for me. It felt there was too much on stage, too many distractions. I was hoping for something else and yet, I feel very discouraged by this tribute. I feel you could have done better Stamos.
