Need more black eastern cinema like this

I give it a four because black films not saturated with USA culture is needed. Igive it a five because i love to see dark skinned with their natural hair. Need more Juju in my thriller movies.

Black women in American films are exploited pitifully. I laughed when the preacher said IHave Done It. Sir you sure did not. LOL

    What a brilliant screenplay!

Ile Owo had a brilliant brilliant screenplay! No need to fear, it's not a creepy/horror movie, it's more of a thriller

    DELICIOUS

-Ile Owo is a movie that calls for intelligence as there are many hidden factors that may get you confused, but without spilling the beans, pay very close attention to the opening scene as it sets off the story right there

It was packed with mysteries and darkness with a mixture of mysticism, Christianity, and secularism

-The set and costume designs were beautiful. They accentuated the luxurious aura that Tunji (Efa Iwara) carried with him as well as the darkness of the sons of Akanni

-Efa Iwara was just mmm...He didn't need to say much because his body language & eyes spoke a thousand words!

Obviously, when you have Tina Mba in the house, she never disappoints 👏🏾👏🏾

-"Desperate times call for desperate measures". That's what Ile Owo is about, whether we look at it from the perspectives of Akanni and his sons or Busola's. This world is wasting away and we must beware not to cling to wealth or societal importance in order to be happy

    BLAND

---Immaculata Oko, having the lead character, didn't really deliver a strong performance. You could see that she was hesitant in her body and vocal expressions.

Bisola Aiyeola revealed that she is not solid when it comes to evil/dark roles. She overdid it by constantly opening her eyes wide in order to intimidate or using her hands to make gestures...

-The weak VFX played a major role to tone down the fear factor of the movie, unfortunately, making it look very computerish.

I enjoyed but it wasn't really structured correctly for a horror movie

This was more of a drama with some horror elements. Because it wasn't structured for horror and lacked horror conventions this will give the impression that the movie drags or is slow.

There was never really a place where I felt any real anxiety or apprehension not because these elements are there but because when there is horror it feels rather random and lacking tension. The build up of emotions from act 1, to 2 to 3 really isn't there. The film maker does some smart things with a low budget and small cast. I look forward to future projects from this filmmaker as he or she improves their craft. I really liked it except it just wasn't structured it correctly on the page for horror.
