It appears that the common belief that Snoop Dogg will do anything for a check is true. On Friday night, the rapper performed at the Crypto Ball ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The “exclusive social event” was held in Washington DC and was intended to praise Trump’s embrace of cryptocurrency, with tickets allegedly going for upwards of $5,000 a pop. Notably, the event coincided with Trump’s launch of his own meme coin.
Press supposedly wasn’t allowed at the Crypto Ball, but videos of Snoop DJing at the event have surfaced online, showing him rapping to a tuxedo-clad Maga crowd. In addition to his own songs, Snoop appeared to have performed several covers, including Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Watch videos of the moment below.

Eminem and 50 Cent recently linked up thanks to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s album Missionary — and now, Slim Shady is open to doing a full project with 50. In an interview on DJ Whoo Kidd’s Whoo’s House on SiriusXM’s Shade 45, Eminem said he’d be interested in collaborating with 50 to recreate the magic of “Patiently Waiting,” but on a full album more than 20 years later.
“That would be great,” Eminem said. “We just gotta stop bullshitting and just do it.”

When Drake announced his legal actions against Universal Music Group last month — claiming that they should have blocked the release of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track masterpiece “Not Like Us,” but instead engaged in a scheme to boost its popularity — many saw the move as simply Drizzy extending his L, including none other than Snoop Dogg, it seems.
In a new interview that aired on The Bootleg Kev Podcast today, Snoop was asked what he thought of the legal actions, prompting the West Coast legend to break out laughing. Smirking, he tried to avoid answering at first, saying “Next question.”

But after another moment, Snoop caved and made one comment. “On the West, we hold court in the streets,” he said. “That’s just what we call it.”

Since Snoop Dogg’s 1993 debut, Doggystyle, Dr. Dre has only sporadically produced a track or two for his former protégé, which makes the idea of the West Coast legend helming an entire Snoop album in 2024 such an intriguing prospect. While Snoop’s claims to artistic legitimacy largely went out the window around the time that he signed with Master P, Dre’s credentials have remained mostly intact. The hope, then, was that this reunion might ignite a much-needed fire under Snoop’s ass and result in an album with more energy and focus than the placeholder projects he’s been churning out of late.
A sequel to Doggystyle in the loosest sense imaginable, Missionary is easily the most eager-to-please project Snoop has attached his name to in quite some time. His verses are nimble, delivered with a touch more gusto than the stock laidback routine he’s been coasting on...

2024's calendar year for music can't come to an end without a new project from Snoop Dogg. In a year when he starred in a new movie called The Underdoggs, dropped a Still G.I.N. alcohol brand, and joined The Voice, Snoop has crowned everything by contributing to the medium that made him a superstar: rap music.
Snoop Dogg teams up with frequent collaborator, producer Dr. Dre, to release his landmark 20th album: Missionary. Just over 30 years after his electric Doggystyle debut, the Doggfather celebrates with his most ambitious project yet. His tracklist features notable guest spots from the likes of Eminem, Sting, 50 Cent, and Tom Petty, among others. These are unique songs filled with unique names all produced by Dre, but which songs rank among the best? Here's how every track on Snoop Dogg's Missionary ranks.

Thirty-one years after the arrival of their iconic album, Doggystyle, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have teamed up once again. Today, Snoop’s new Dre-produced album, Missionary, has finally arrived.
Released via Death Row, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope, Missionary is a quintessentially Snoop affair, featuring refreshed G-Funk-esque beats, lyrical wordplay, reminiscences on Snoop’s upbringing, and exciting guest appearances by the likes of Sting, Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Jelly Roll, the late Tom Petty, and many more.

To that end, Missionary is packed with plenty of unexpected moments. On the Sting-featuring “Another Part of Me,” you get to hear the Police frontman deliver uncharacteristic lines like “From the jump on the run, man, I walk away/ I’m the one, give a fuck what they got to say.” On “Last Dance with Mary Jane,” Snoop and Jelly Roll trade stories about how they’ve “seen some things,...

Snoop Dogg’s got a new album out today, it’s produced primarily by Dr. Dre — marking their first full collaboration since Doggystyle — and you better believe it boasts a centerpiece song about weed. One that features Jelly Roll and even samples Tom Petty.
“Last Dance with Mary Jane” borrows its hook and title from Petty’s 1993 song of the sorta-same name (“Mary Jane’s Last Dance”). This gives the track a rootsy vibe as Snoop reflects on his lifelong relationship with weed, dating all the way back to his first...

On “Sticcy Situation,” off Snoop Dogg’s ambitious new album, Missionary, which is his second full-length collaboration with mentor Dr. Dre, the golden-voiced star proclaims, “Multi-platinum gangsta shit/Who did it before us?” And 31 years after dropping Doggystyle, his rebellious diamond-selling debut, he cuts right to the heart of his and Dre’s atom-shifting allure. The bass on “Sticcy Situation” stabs your spleen, and the pianos, straight out of a classic mafioso flick, brand you an overeager accomplice in lighthearted larceny. Snoop Dogg is set to add another feather to his cap by teaming up with Luc Besson for a sci-fi movie titled The Last Man, in which the rapper will star and serve as a co-producer.
Last month, Snoop teased that he was working on a film “in the vein” of Planet of the Apes — but with “dogs instead of apes.” This description matches up with today’s Variety report about The Last Man.
Besson will pen the screenplay, which is expected to take cues from his 1997 cult classic The Fifth Element by mixing sci-fi with comedy and action. Filming is scheduled to begin in 2025.
The Last Man is co-produced by Virginie Besson-Silla and Luc Besson for EuropaCorp with Snoop Dogg and Sara Ramaker through their Death Row Pictures banner.

Kai Cenat just reclaimed the record for most simultaneous Twitch subscriptions and set it at a staggering 727,700–meaning that, if all those people purchased Tier 1 subs at $4.99 a pop, he made at least $1.8 million (after Twitch took a 50% cut of revenue).
But Cenat’s monthlong “Mafiathon 2” subathon was about more than immediate cash. It was about cementing Cenat’s place as one of Twitch’s biggest-spectacle streamers.
We’ve written lately about how livestreamers in particular seem to always be upping the ante, putting on more and more attention-grabbing events in an effort to capture more and more viewers. Just in recent examples, Ghanian streamer Afua Nash attempted to eat for four days straight live on YouTube, and there’s also emilycc, the streamer Cenat spotlighted during his subathon who’s been live for over three years, including sleeping every night in front of the camera.

Snoop Dogg’s new single from his upcoming Dr. Dre-produced album Missionary takes major inspiration from the Police’s 1979 single “Message in A Bottle,” using part of the melody and Sting’s replayed version of the guitar line — as well as fresh vocals from the former Police frontman.
“Me and Snoop made a recording of ‘Message In A Bottle’, which he’s called something else,” Sting recently told BBC Radio 2. “I played the guitar and I sang on it, but Snoop also sings on this, which is quite a revelation to me.

Snoop Dogg has canceled his pair of “Doggystyle” 30th anniversary Hollywood Bowl concerts amidst the ongoing strikes from the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild, the rapper announced Tuesday.
“We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,” Snoop wrote in an Instagram statement. “We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a real proposal and we can all get back to work.”
The “Drop It Like Its Hot” singer first rescheduled the concerts with Dr. Dre, originally set for June 27 and June 28, to Oct. 20 and Oct. 21. He posted a video announcing that decision on June 2, a month after the WGA first went on strike.

Dr. Dre has revealed why he turned down opportunities to work with fellow legends like Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. While appearing on a recent episode of Kevin Hart’s Peacock talk show Hart to Heart, the producer said he “bowed out” of the collaborations because he didn’t want to tarnish how he felt about them as artists.
“They just asked me to work with them and I just was like, ‘What the fuck am I going to do with them?'” Dre told Hart after being asked whether he had any regrets. He elaborated that he didn’t want to affect “the way I feel about Stevie, Prince, Michael, Bruce Springsteen, and all of these amazing artists,” which “could change by working with them.”
“These are my fucking heroes,” he said. “I like the idea of what I grew up listening to and I want to keep it like that.

Imagine walking into a restaurant and seeing Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, and Dr. Dre eating dinner together. Such was the case at The River Café in Hammersmith, England, where fans saw the trio dining after Macca and Dr. Dre caught The Boss’ recent show at London’s Hyde Park.

"Your daddy started something very important..." Welcome Villain has unveiled the official trailer for an indie horror film titled Malum, arriving in theaters only at the end of March. This is actually a new remake of the 2014 horror film Last Shift, made by the same filmmaker updating his own film, similar to the way Sam Raimi made Evil Dead 1 & 2. Helmed by director Anthony Diblasi and co-written by Diblasi and Scott Poiley, Malum re-imagines the original critically-acclaimed horror hit from the festival circuit and expands on the filmmaker's vision of nightmare-inducing terror. A rookie police officer willingly takes the last shift at a newly decommissioned police station in an attempt to uncover the mysterious connection between her police officer father's death and a vicious cult. This updated film stars Jessica Sula as Jessica Loren, with Kevin Wayne, Monroe Cline, Candice Coke, Valerie Loo, Clarke Wolfe, Natalie Victoria. This does look pretty freaky.

"A mind is a terrible thing to break." Dread Central Presents has released the official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Extremity, the latest feature from director Anthony Diblasi. Extremity plays with the popular modern horror concept of "extreme haunts", or experiences horror fans can pay for that put them in horrific, torturous situations. The plot follows a young woman obsessed with horror who subjects herself to hours of grueling torment inside an extreme haunt in an attempt to confront her fears and conquer the tragic past that haunts her. Starring Dana Christina, J. Larose, Cam Damage, September D'Angelo, Felissa Rose, Tiffany Shepis, Chad Rook, Michael St. Michaels, Natalie Victoria, and Ricky Dean Logan. I wasn't even sure if I should post this, but it just looks so crazy with some seriously freaky imagery, I couldn't help it. You hve to see all this for yourself. Here's the first...

The second Cthulhu figure in a three-part series from Warpo will be available this fall. Also: a trailer for The Inhabitants, first details on IFC Midnight's acquisition of Cabin Fever, El Rey Network's Stephen King marathon, and Last Shift on Blu-ray.
Warpo's Cthulhu Figure Series: Press Release: "Chicago, Il (September 9, 2015): Warpo, creators of the Legends of Cthulhu action figures, today released part two of three of Cthulhu: The Great Old One, their retro commercial series for the forthcoming 12” Cthulhu figure.
In keeping with the company’s method manufacturing, the process of development by which Team Warpo creates everything with the mindset and methods of the late 1970s to mid-1980s, the commercial series was created with the look and feel of being an “uploaded artifact” from the era – a rip from an old VHS tape that was used over and over again to capture storylines for the sandbox adventures of childhood.

I thought that writer/director Anthony Diblasi had given up on the horror genre after he chose to helm Wuthering High School – a teen movie, more accurately a TV movie, take on the classic novel – and to be fair I thought it wouldn’t be much of a loss. You see, beyond his first film Dread, which was based on the short story of the same name by Clive Barker, I have pretty much disliked every movie he has made, including his two of his previous Frightfest-screened movies, Cassadaga and Missionary. However… and here’s where I eat my words (and my razor-edged hat if needs be) he hits it out of the park with Most Likely to Die.
