The last game in the Kirby series to be rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB until Kirby Triple Deluxe (2014).
HR-D3 appeared in the footage of a cancelled Kirby game for the Nintendo GameCube which would have been part of the Kirby game canon however this boss later appeared in Kirby's Return to Dreamland (2011) as a hidden boss.
Escargoon, Chef Shataki and "Customer Service", three characters from the Kirby Anime, all make cameo appearances in some of the game's mini-games.
In the Japanese version of the game, there is an enemy credit sequence that also featured Kirby having a picnic. While it was disabled in the other versions, the graphics can still be found in the game's files.
