The Cuckoo Clock of Doom

Now I will say, differences is perfectly fine. And I do get the original episode is outdated now, so a new look into the supposed "Goosebumps" is fine. I've also read the book too, so I was waiting to find some similarities. There was none! There's nothing to do with Goosebumps. Goosebumps is also ment to be an anthology but it's not here, I Don't know maybe budgeting restrictions I guess?

But how can you slap Goosebumps on the title, when it's got absolutely nothing in common with the old TV show, even Book. Villains? Yes. But I've only watched this episode. And it doesn't even have the cheesy camp that made the original show great.

The acting performances are great though, and the style is half bad. A more grander and darker approach might work well. But without the Cheesyness from the Books and old TV Show the feel of this siries doesn't even mech. But the overall performances were great, lots of talk about Football though too. That's where the positives end unfortunately.

Watch the original, it's by far better. This one doesn't have the charm, the overall feel to the other siries and Books. The stories in the older siries still had there similarities. This has nothing to do with anything of Goosebumps. And the plot was quite bad. Like why are people exploding, and why is someone been thrown in an abandoned building? See none of this makes sense. Terrible. Time for my verdict,

2/10 No wonder only episode 2-3 are on Disney +. This was appauling.

I watched every episode of the original Goosebumps and, while broadly enjoyable, it had some truly awful acting in places that affected the entire tone of the episode.

There are two major boons to this new incarnation. The first is that the acting and production values are *much* better, probably because these 'teenagers' are actually all in their mid-twenties.

The second improvement is the decision to take the basic premise of the original stories and weave them into a continuous narrative. There's a wider story here, told through different characters and their connection to certain items (camera, mask, clock, etc.).

There was some genuinely funny humour in this episode, and I like the way they're linking everything back to that fateful Halloween party.

So far, this is panning out as a solid new take on the concept.
